The Eels are all over the place this year. Hard to read. They’re strong on the outside but teams have managed to crack the middle in recent weeks. They are 3 wins 7 losses, mainly due to an inability to play out the full 80 minutes. They’re on a short turn around and as has been the case all season they are “staying positive”. The inclusion of Junior Paulo will bolster their forward pack but is he enough?

We don’t think so. We’ll be looking at Souths to win this one.

While we think the Souths win, our bet of the week is in the first try scorers market.

South’s interim fullback Alex Johnston is definitely not suffering from the second-year blues. He’s well on the way to breaking his debut season’s stats as he’s third in the league at the moment with 8 tries already this season. That means he crosses the line 80% of the time he plays.

This kid was the leading try scorer last season with 21 from 18 starts. He’s had 10 line breaks this season, against 21 last season, essentially meaning if he breaks the line he scores a try.
