India vs New Zealand: T20 Series Betting Tips

October 31, 2017 by Posted in Cricket Tips

New Zealand gave a mighty scare to India in the ODIs, which in the end was won by the hosts in the last over of the final ODI. The Kiwis now have a chance to go one better when they take on India in the three match T20Is. The first of the matches would be played at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla on Wednesday, November 1st.

India – not so strong in T20Is
It is fair to say that T20Is is not India’s cup of tea. Despite the presence of many IPL regulars, India struggle to assert their supremacy in the shortest format. New faces have been drafted after the ODIs with IPL stars Mohammed Siraj and Shreyas Iyer winning calls along with a recall for KL Rahul. However, the batting burden remains on captain Virat Kohli.

Bowling will be led by the irrepressible duo of Bhuvneswar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah who are probably the best death bowlers currently. Keep an eye on the wrist-spin of Yuzvendra Chahal who could keep the visitors guessing.

New Zealand – a chance to surprise the hosts
For New Zealand, this is their best chance to put pressure on the hosts and come out with something from the tour. The Kiwis have been methodical in their approach and exceptional with their execution. That said, the poor returns of Martin Guptill at the top hurt them a lot. With Ross Taylor replaced by hard-hitting Tom Bruce, the visitors could have more firepower than the hosts.

Bowling will once again be about their seam duo of Trent Boult and Tim Southee. However, with Ish Sodhi in the squad there is a chance that Kane Williamson opts to test the Indian batsmen with double-spin attack.

India have played seven T20Is this year and have won four of them. The Kiwis have a better record having played four T20Is and winning three of them. The head-to-head record is loaded heavily in favour of the visitors who have won all five of the T20Is played against India.

The odds market favours India but their record in this format should make New Zealand favourites to win the series. Back the Kiwis to win the series at odds of $3.10 (William Hill). The correct score could be 2-1 in favour of the Kiwis at odds of $4 (bet365).

TIP: New Zealand to win the series – $3.10 at William Hill

Rohit Sharma looks to have found his mojo back at the right time for the T20Is. Back the opener to top the scoring charts for India at odds of $4 (bet365).

TIP: Rohit Sharma top Indian run scorer – $4 at bet365
