India vs Australia 3rd ODI Betting Tips
Indian bowlers continued their strangle hold over the Australian batsmen to lead their side to a comfortable victory in the second match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. With a 2-0 lead, the hosts will have one eye on taking a series-winning lead when they take on the World Champions in the 3rd ODI at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.
If the first match was won by Hardik Pandya’s individual brilliance, the second match was won by the bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar with his prodigious swing, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav with their wrist-spin mastery bamboozled the Aussies to win by 50-runs.
A chance for India to win the series
Virat Kohli would surely have his eyes set on winning the series. After coming back to form with a masterful 92, Kohli has very few worries about his batting line-up. Questions remain on the number four spot but Manish Pandey may get one last chance ahead of KL Rahul.
Bowling has given Kohli a lot of variety and even the presence of Ravindra Jadeja in the squad isn’t going to push him for a change. Hardik Pandya continues to impress with both bat and ball lending the much-required balance to the side.
Can Australia come back in the series?
For the Aussie captain Steve Smith, it is a case of many questions but only few answers. Opening remains a concern as Hilton Cartwright picked up two consecutive failures. Lack of runs from vice-captain David Warner is hurting them a lot.
The impressive performances from Marcus Stoinis is refreshing but the poor returns of gloveman Mathew Wade is a big worry. Smith can choose to go with the part-time option of Peter Handscomb, which will also extend his batting line-up.
Key Statistics
India have played just four matches on this ground and have won all four. However, the last ODI they played in the Holkar stadium was two years back when they defeated South Africa by 22-runs in a low-scoring affair.
Picks
Can Australia bounce back? At odds of $2.50 (William Hill), bookmakers are not predicting a Kangaroo win but back the visitors to pull one back on Sunday.
Stoinis’ form has seen him emerge as a key player for Smith in the middle order. Back the burly all-rounder to score over 24.5 runs at odds of $1.83 (Ladbrokes).
TIP: Stoinis OVER 24.5 runs – $1.82 at Ladbrokes
With monsoons in full flow in this part of the world, the pitch may not be as conducive to shot making as it should be. Back the bowlers to continue having a strangle hold and stop any batsman from reaching the landmark of 100. Odds offered are $2.20 (Ladbrokes)
TIP: No individual century in the match – $2.20 at Ladbrokes
