ICC Women’s World Cup Final Betting Tips

The tournament opened with this match and closes with the same match. England and India will clash at the Lord’s in front of packed audience for the title of 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup.

England have been the form team of the tournament – their loss to India in the opening game notwithstanding – and should start as favourites. India on the other hand, have picked up momentum at the right time. After stopping Australia in the semis, can they complete the set and lift the title?

Route to the final
England had an inauspicious start losing badly to India in the tournament opener. That loss spurred them to action as they notched up seven wins on the trot. That included a very tight win against South Africa in the semi-finals. It was a close encounter where the Proteas won the hearts but England walked away with the honours.

India’s campaign can be divided into three phases. The first phase was where they notched up four wins on the trot. The second phase included heavy losses to Australia and South Africa. The last phase saw them snatching back the momentum with comprehensive wins against New Zealand and Australia.

Key players
England’s strength is their batting exemplified by the dynamic four – Tammy Beaumont (387 runs), Heather Knight (363), Sarah Taylor (351) and Natalie Sciver (318). Bowling is a mixed bag with Knight and Alex Hartley picking up eight wickets each.

India on the other hand have just two players scoring 300 plus in the tournament -captain Mithali Raj (392) and semi-final star Harmanpreet Kaur (308). Punam Raut, Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma have played the support roles to perfection. With the ball, Deepti (12 wickets) and Poonam Yadav (nine wickets) lead their charge.

England have a healthy 34-26 record against India in 62 matches. Of these, 28 are played at home in which 21 are won by England with just five losses.

The hosts may have lost to India in the tournament opener but in the last eight matches between these sides, England won six and lost just once. The record at Lord’s stands 1-1 with one match abandoned – although the last encounter at Lord’s was five years back.

It’s a fresh match and England should start as favourites – discounting the fact that they were comprehensively defeated in the opening match. Odds of $1.57 (William Hill) make them favourite. India at odds of $2.50 (bet365) are underdogs to lift their maiden World Cup title.

TIP: England to win – $1.57 at William Hill

India’s penchant for slow starts make England favourites to score more in the first 15 overs. Back England Women to score the most in first 15 overs at odds of $1.67 (William Hill).

TIP: England most runs 1st 15 overs – $1.67 at William Hill

Mithali’s form has been the cornerstone of Indian team’s charge. Odds of $1.61 (Ladbrokes) are offered on her scoring over 3.5 fours.

TIP: Mithali over 3.5 fours – $1.61 at Ladbrokes
