England vs West Indies T20 Betting Tips

September 15, 2017 by Posted in Cricket Tips

West Indies surprised everyone with the fight they showed in the Test series. Although England won 2-1, it was the fighting spirit of the visitors in the last two matches that won them plaudits. The teams now get ready for the limited overs’ action with the one-off T20 at the Riverside ground in Chester-le-Street on Saturday, September 16th.

England under Eoin Morgan have become a strong force in white-ball cricket. These two are the 2016 World T20 finalists and interestingly, this match is the first meeting after that final. Both sides have strong T20 specialists and Saturday promises to be very exciting.

England will look to keep their good record
England’s T20 side is flush with specialists and they shouldn’t feel the absence of all-rounders Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali who have been granted a one-game break. The likes of Jason Roy, Alex Hales and captain Morgan provide great impetus with the bat.

With the ball, the likes of David Willey and Liam Plunkett are silent performers while the availability of Liam Dawson and Adil Rashid gives options for the captain.

Will the return of specialists give the Windies an edge?
The visitors will welcome the global T20 leagues’ specialists with the likes of Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine giving strength to the team.

The challenge for captain Carlos Brathwaite though, is to make sure that they maximize their potential. Most of the team members come from playing in the Caribbean Premier League and should have no problems with match practice.

Key numbers and statistics
West Indies hold a clear edge over their opponents in this format having won 10 of the 14 matches that they played. England’s recent performances haven’t been convincing either, winning three and losing three of their last six.

West Indies on the other hand have won five of their last six T20s with a loss against Pakistan their lone blip.

Picks
England are hot favourites to win the match at odds of $1.67 (William Hill) while West Indies are backed at odds of $2.37 (bet365). Back the visitors to spring a surprise.
