Cricket betting T20 New Zealand

New Zealand gave a lesson to Bangladesh on how to play in swinging conditions even as the visitors brought their own downfall in the ODIs with collapses of the worst order. The teams now move on to the three-match T20 series which should be more competitive – at least at the outset – than the ODIs. The first match will be played at Napier on January 3.

Resting regulars for the Kiwis

The Kiwis have one eye on the Test matches that follow the T20s with Tim Southee rested for the whole series and Trent Boult rested for the first. Dashing opener Martin Guptill also misses out with injury ,but there is enough cover in the squad.

Neil Broom – the success story from the ODIs – makes an entry to the side while Corey Anderson will get drafted in, albeit as a pure-batsman. Performances from the ‘Super Smash’ domestic competition are rewarded with hard-hitting Tom Bruce and all-rounder Ben Wheeler finding their way into the squad.

Can the visitors recover?

Bangladesh came in with high hopes of an improved performance but didn’t really do justice to their potential in the ODIs. In all the games, they were in with a shout before succumbing to monumental collapses. Lack of partnerships in the middle-order looks be their bane, even as they look to weave their way to a T20 series win.

The return to fitness of Mustafizur Rahman is great news though, as the wily seamer will be difficult to get away in the shortest format. Mushfiqur Rahim misses out because of injury and Mashrafe Mortaza will look to senior pros in Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan to shoulder more responsibility.

T20 Series picks

New Zealand will feel confident after the ODI performance and should be considered favorites for the T20 series. Although the format is unpredictable, the pedigree of Kiwis can’t be questioned. The hosts look better equipped to win the T20s and picking them to win the series looks a safe option.
Mustafizur’s claim to fame has been his tough-to-pick slower balls which bamboozled quite a few players already. The left-arm seamer is easing into action after an injury-induced lay-off, but looks good to be the visitor’s best bowler.

First T20 picks

The Kiwis start heavy favorites and the odds of $1.24 are a huge indicator of the same. One more interesting punt in favor of the Kiwis is the most match sixes for the New Zealanders.
