Cricket Betting: England vs India T20 Series Preview

July 3, 2018 by Posted in Cricket Tips

In one of the most widely anticipated tussles of the summer, England and India will battle it out in three T20Is starting July 3rd in Manchester. This series will go a long way in handing momentum in a series that features ODIs and Tests later in the summer.
With both sides looking evenly matched on paper, this T20I series promises to be one of the closely fought series of recent times.

England – stalwarts in white ball cricket
After the 2015 World Cup debacle, England have set a new blueprint for white ball cricket – most notably ODIs. Their T20I form hasn’t been rude, with their loss down under in the Trans-Tasman T20I tri-series highlighting their fragilities in the format.
However, the form of Jason Roy, Alex Hales, and Jos Buttler makes them one of the dangerous batting units of T20Is. Add Eoin Morgan to the list and you have a batting side that can rock any bowling unit.

Bowling is also of the top drawer with the likes of Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali, and Liam Plunkett giving them an edge on any surface. The continued absence of Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes remains a worry, but they have enough in the tank to cover up for them.
Like they have shown in the 28-run defeat of Australia in the one-off T20I, England can be very dangerous on their day.

India – chance to start the tour on a positive note
The real test for the visitors starts later in the series, but for now the focus is purely on the shorter formats. Having made a quick stopover in Dublin for a two-match T20I series that they won very comfortably, India will feel that they have adjusted to the conditions.
The presence and the aggression of Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli gives the batting a very solid outlook. Rohit Sharma is no slouch either and the ‘men in blue’ look very strong – at least on paper.

Bowling is top notch, led by the spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. As they have shown time and again, the two wrist spinners can be handy on any surface. Bhuvneshwar Kumar remains one of the best exponents of T20 bowling, although the injury-led pullout of Jasprit Bumrah is a worry.

– England have remained unbeaten in 4 of 5 bilateral series against India.
– England have won all 3 home T20Is against India.
– India have lost their last 5 T20Is in England.

TIP: England to win the series – 1.66 at bet365
TIP: Correct score to be 2-1 England – 2.62 at bet365
TIP: Buttler top England batsman 3.25 – William Hill
