Big Bash League (BBL07) Round 8 Tips

January 13, 2018 by Posted in Cricket Tips

With every passing match, BBL07 has become extremely competitive raising hopes of this season being the best. Interestingly, we are no closer to finding out the finals’ teams. In fact, we are only close to ruling out a couple of sides, at this stage. So, what does Round 8 have in store for us?

There’s plenty of other cricket on at the moment with the Australian ODI’s about to kick off along with a heap of international cricket! Make sure you check out our cricket page for all your tips!

Hobart Hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat (Jan 15, 7:40 PM local)

The Hurricanes have absolutely taken the Big Bash by storm, picking up four wins on the trot. Thanks to the consistency of D’Arcy Short (406 runs, SR of 159.84), the Hurricanes have become the underdogs in the race to the finals.

The Heat will feel the heat of Hurricanes breathing down the neck. A loss here will reverse the positions and the Heat would be wary of this. Chris Lynn’s absence is a worry too!

TIP: Hurricanes to win – $1.90 at Sportsbet

Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Sixers (Jan 16, 7:40 PM local)

The Stars have picked a win and got on the board, at last! Their chances are very slim, but till the time there is something, the Stars would fight to be in contention. With Kevin Pietersen (159 runs) and Glenn Maxwell (186 runs) picking form at the right time, there could be more surprises from the Stars.

The Sixers have no points in their kitty (ahead of their Sydney Derby) and will be hoping for their latest additions Nathan Lyon and Carlos Brathwaite to make it a decent ending to the season.

TIP: Stars to win – $1.68 at Ladbrokes

Adelaide Strikers vs Hobart Hurricanes (Jan 17, 7:10 PM local)

This clash will be very crucial, for both the sides, considering the tight nature of things at the top of the table. The Strikers are sitting pretty at the top of the table and are probably the most confident side of the season – thanks to Alex Carey (224 runs) and Ben Laughlin (11 wickets).

The Hurricanes have arrived late in the season, but are enjoying the fruits of Short’s bursts with the bat. Joffra Archer’s (nine wickets) exploits with the ball and in the field, aren’t going unnoticed either!

Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat (Jan 18, 7:40 PM local)

This will be the second match of the round for the Sixers and they hope for a big show from their two local hopes, Jordan Silk (156 runs) and Nic Maddinson (123 runs). But, can they deliver?

The Heat are in a good phase right now, but a loss in this fixture will complicate their chances for finals’ qualification. This is their second game of the round and could determine where the Heat will finish in the group stage.

TIP: Heat to win – Price not yet available
