January 8, 2018 by Posted in Cricket Tips

As the teams lose their players for international commitments in the coming days and the race for the finals spot intensifies, Round 6 of BBL07 promises to be much more exciting than the earlier rounds. We look ahead to what’s in store.

There’s plenty of other cricket on at the moment with the Ashes in full swing along with a heap of international cricket! Make sure you check out our cricket page for all your tips!

Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers (Jan 8, 6:10 PM local)

The Hurricanes have suddenly come to life with two wins on the trot, but still have a lot of ground to catch. Four points warrant a sixth place for them and they will look to D’Arcy Short (242 runs, SR of 162.41) to continue their winning run.

The Sixers have lost their first five matches and that puts them in a must-win situation. They can ill-afford another loss, but with none of the players rising to the occasion, the Sixers are looking lost for ideas.

TIP: Back the Hurricanes to win – $1.60 at Sportsbet

Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Renegades (Jan 8, 6:20 PM local)

This will be a cracker of a contest for the top position, as the Scorchers look to get back into winning ways after a demoralising loss to the Heat. They have never lost to the Renegades in the Big Bash (7-0) and have already defeated them this year. Will there be an encore?

The Renegades are atop the consistency train, thanks to the performances of Cameron White (217 runs, avg. of 108.50) and Dwayne Bravo (12 wickets, economy of 7.21). If ever they want a shot at defeating Scorchers, it is now!

TIP: Back the Renegades to win – $1.73 at Ladbrokes

Adelaide Strikers vs Melbourne Stars (Jan 9, 7:10 PM local)

The Strikers lost their first match of the season against the Hurricanes, but have generally been good. Travis head (122 runs) and Colin Ingram (119 runs) came back to form, which augurs well for the hosts.

This is fast looming as a must-win fixture for the Stars who have lost all four of their matches. There are problems all over the park, which is not a good sign. Only Marcus Stoinis (140 runs, four wickets) is chipping in, and therein lies their biggest problem.

TIP: Back the Strikers to win – $1.75 at CrownBet

Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes (Jan 10, 6:40 PM local)

The Heat are in the top-three and would love to continue their good start to the season. Five of their players have scored more than 100 runs – led by Joe Burns (150 runs, SR of 145.63). With the ball too, it is a collective effort as four bowlers have six wickets each.

This will be the second game of the round for the Hurricanes, who will hope to maintain their return to winning ways. While the batting is revolving around Short, the bowling mantle is donned by the exciting quick Jofra Archer (eight wickets, economy of 6.0).

TIP: Back the Heat to win – $1.60 at Sportsbet
