AFL Round 18 ‘Pick of the Week’

All three of these picks play out on Sunday with Port Adelaide Vs. St Kilda the first game, taking place from 12:40pm local time on Sunday at Adelaide Oval.
Prior to Thursday afternoon we would have considered this the toughest of the three leg multi, but then the Saints announced that Nick Riewoldt, Jack Lonie and Sam Gilberts were all withdrawn with injuries and our confidence grew. Throw in the fact this game is at Adelaide Oval and we actually think the Power will get the job done quite easy. Port have looked far better the last two weeks (including in their loss to the Crows) and should continue to build on that form.
Following the Port game we move to Etihad Stadium as the Bulldogs take on the Bombers. If you didn’t think the Dogs were the real deal just yet that should have changed last week after their win against the Magpies. The Bulldogs are playing to solidify their spot in the top eight and with a fighting fit lineup and a pep in their step, you shouldn’t give the Bombers too much of a chance.
The final leg of the Sunday multi special sees the Giants head out west to take on Fremantle.
Playing against the top of the ladder Dockers anywhere is a big challenge, but it’s even tougher at Domain Stadium. The Giants are fighting for a spot in the eight, but unfortunately they won’t be getting a much-needed win this weekend. The Dockers simply outclass the Giants in almost every way and will certainly win the ball through the middle of the ground with Sandilands taking on a Shane Mumford-less Giants.
