AFL Round 17 ‘Pick of the Week’

There looks to be plenty of value to be found betting on Round 17 of the 2015 AFL season. One of the best game to find that value is in the Melbourne Vs. St Kilda game where we will be focussing our ‘AFL Betting Tip of the Week’.

The last time these two teams met was just six weeks ago. The Saints won by 2 points when Leigh Montagna kicked the winning goal in the dying moments of the game. There is a good chance this one will be another close game when these two teams meet on Sunday.

The Saints do have a great record against the Demons, winning the last 11 meetings. It was actually back in a 2006 elimination final that Demons got a win. The Demons have been better this year than the last few, but I think they are still a little behind the Saints.

Last week saw the Demons bag a rare win, but it was only against a terrible Lions outfit. The Saints did lose last week, but put up a really solid effort against the Tigers who will be a threat this September.

The biggest indictment on the Demons this year has been their scoring power – they average the lowest score in the league, scoring just 71.8 points a game. The Saints have only scored 70 points or less on four occasions and have managed some big scores that Melbourne just don’t seem to be capable of.

We really rate the Saints a $1.60-$1.70 chance for this game, so the $1.86 on offer is just too good.  The Saints have score 80 points or more on seven occasions, so this certainly is a solid offer in this spot.
