AFL Round 16 ‘Pick of the Week’
Round 16 of the 2015 AFL season looks like a tough one for our AFL betting tip with lots of interesting match-ups. One game we like the look of, however, is the North Melbourne Vs. Essendon game. We will be taking a couple of bets on this game, including using the Ladbrokes ‘Favourites Special’ which gives us $2 odds on the Kangaroos, enhanced from around $1.25!
The last time the Roos met the Bombers it was on a Friday night at Etihad back in Round 7 of this year – a time and place they find themselves in once again this weekend. North Melbourne won that game by 11 points and look poised to win this one by more.
The Bombers were a better side then. Yes, it’s only been a couple of months, but you could really see that Essendon were getting sluggish a fortnight ago when Jobe Watson left for a break. Essendon were certainly better last week, but let’s not forget they only beat Melbourne.
The Kangaroos, meanwhile, were fantastic last week, pumping the Cats at Etihad. That win got the Roos to 7-7 and this week will be important for them to tip the scales in the direction of the ‘win’ column.
North Melbourne have a great record against the Bombers, winning four of the last five, including three at Etihad. Lifetime, the Kangaroos have won 10 of 15 contests against Essendon at this stadium.
The Bombers continue to struggle with centre clearances, ranked last in the comp, while the Roos are ranked fourth in this department. The Bombers will once again be without their skipper Jobe Watson which certainly won’t help this part of their game.
The only negative for the Roos in this game is that Drew Petrie will be out. However, this might give the Roos a chance to free up their forward line structure and try to be a little more daring in their delivery inside 50.
The $2 odds you will be getting on the Kangaroos at Ladbrokes is a no-brainer. The only problem with this little bit of free money is that the max bet is $20. For those that want more action on this game, we will also be getting on North Melbourne at the line!
