The 2015-16 A-league season continues this weekend with each match continuing to increase in importance as we near the finals series. This week we take a look at four matches and offer our round 24 betting multi.

In the first leg we will be taking the home side the Melbourne City to defeat the Brisbane Roar who were on fire against Melbourne Victory last weekend. The Roar managed to hand the defending champions one of their biggest defeats in club history as they romped them 5-0. Striker Jamie MaClaren was on fire as he scored a hat trick as he increased his goal-scoring tally to 17 for the season. It is quite a remarkable record considering he has been in and out of the squad due to Olyroos duty. Meanwhile Melbourne City were able to be the first team to hand Adelaide United defeat since round 8 and what was arguably more impressive for the side was that they managed to maintain a clean sheet. They have had no problem scoring all season but defensively they have had mishaps. It was a positive sign for the club as they near a finals spot as defence is a main contributor to any side that wins a title.

The Central Coast Mariners are stranded on the bottom of the ladder and will be without two of their best players this weekend as they were handed red cards last week. One of those players is former Liverpool Champions League winner Luis Garcia who had given the side a spark since joining midseason. It is a big loss for the side and it gives Sydney FC an added boost as they look for their first win in seven matches. The Sky Blues have slumped at the worst time of the year as they have dropped into 7th place and face the real fear of missing the finals series. Coach Graham Arnold needs to help the side gain some confidence and there is no better team to face than the Mariners to do this. Sydney have defeated them twice already this season and we are backing them to sweep them in the third and final meeting between these sides this season.

The Western Sydney Wanderers picked up a victory against the Jets on the weekend whilst Adelaide United lost their first game since round 8. It could be the best thing that could have happened to the Reds as it is a bit of a wake up call for a side that rose from bottom place to top spot. It will provide a spark for the side to return to their best form but it wasn’t just the Reds who will be returning to form this weekend. Mitch Nichols showed signs of the player that led the Wanderers to an 8-game winning streak earlier in the season as he was back to his creative best. We expect him to lift again in this match but ultimately the two sides will split the points and it will end in a draw.

In our final leg we will be backing the Glory to earn a back-to-back victory against the Phoenix in Wellington this year. The Glory has moved into fifth position on the ladder and along with the Reds they have been the inform side for the second half of the season. The Glory earned a 4-0 victory last week against the mariners as they tore their defence apart and never really left cruise control. Meanwhile the Phoenix earned a victory but they will come up against a much stronger outfit that is full of confidence. The Glory’s attack is the third best in the league whilst their defence is solid at the back.
