A-league Round 23 Betting Multi
The 2015-16 A-league season has just five regular season matches remaining and last week we missed out on our multi by just the one leg. We will be looking to go one better this week as we preview round 23 and offer our betting multi.
Adelaide United’s resurgence has reached the ultimate spot as they are now sitting on the top of the table after being on the bottom heading into round 6. The side has been undefeated since round 8 and haven’t looked like losing. Their last two games they have scored seven goals and kept two clean sheets as they are one of the most balanced teams across the park. Their defence has become just as strong as their offence and it will need to be at its best this weekend as they take on the best offensive side in the competition. Bruno Fornarolio scored a hat trick last week and has been in fine goal scoring form all year. However, we believe City’s defence will come back to haunt them this weekend as the Reds come out on top.
Sydney FC has fallen out of the top six and are now in danger of missing out on the finals series. However, luckily for them they are taking on the Phoenix this weekend on home soil and they will be desperate for a victory against the weaker side. Their goal scoring has been their issue all season long and they will need to get it fixed soon as their defence has started to fall apart. The Phoenix lost 4-0 last week to the Reds and they are a side that has definitely given up on their season as they have avoided the wooden spoon whilst there is no chance of them moving up the ladder. The Sky Blues will find a way to earn a victory in this one.
Perth Glory returned to winning ways last week against the Newcastle Jets and we are backing them to earn a back-to-back victory this weekend. The Glory’s win saw them crack into the top six for the first time this season and it is a good reward for a side that has been dominant over the second half of the year. Meanwhile the Mariners have suffered five straight losses and are destined to pick up their first wooden spoon in the club’s history. The side has been awful at the back all season and we can see this one turning ugly if the Glory are switched on as they have been in their recent games.
In the final leg of our multi we will be backing the Wanderers to bounce back from their loss to the roar last week and secure a victory against the Jets. The Wanderers had a 2-1 lead in the second half but fell on the road and it saw them fall from top spot as they were leapfrogged by Adelaide. They will be looking for some momentum as they head into the final month of football and taking on a Jets outfit that has been inconsistent all season is a perfect opportunity for them to do that. In the two previous matches between these two sides this season the Wanderers came out on top in comfortable wins and they should be able to repeat those efforts this weekend.
