A-league Round 16 Betting Multi
The 2015-16 A-league season enters round 16 this weekend and we there will be five matches held over five days including the Big Blue match up on Australia Day. This week we will be taking advantage of a couple of short priced favourites in an attempt to secure our first A-league multi of 2016.
In our opening leg we will be taking the Western Sydney Wanderers to defeat the Central Coast Mariners away from home. The Wanderers blew a massive chance to return to the top of the table against their arch rivals Sydney FC as they dominated the entire match but were unable to make it count on the scoreboard. The Sky Blues had two big chances and took them both and it was enough for them to take the three points. However, it shouldn’t be an issue for the Wanderers this week to find the back of the net as they come up against the worst defence in the league and despite the Mariners picking up former Liverpool player Luis Garcia, it won’t help them turn their season around.
The Glory hasn’t lost to the Jets since November 2011 and we can’t see that turning around this weekend as the Glory will get the better of the home side. The Jets were able to snap a winless streak last week as they defeated the Phoenix, however the Glory has looked the much better side and was able to overcome a goal deficit twice to City before holding on to a draw after being reduced to 10-men for the final 20 minutes of the contest. The side has shown vast improvement over the past month and they should be able to secure the three points against the Jets.
Melbourne City weren’t able to capitalise in the final minutes against the Glory as their opposition sat back and they were forced to take long-range efforts that never trouble the goal. It should be a different outcome this weekend as the best offence in the competition takes on the third worst defence. City will trouble the Phoenix’s goal for the majority of the match and if they can close things up at the back it could be another big victory for City who have already secured three wins by four or more goals this season.
In our final leg we will be backing the Victory against the Sky Blues on Australia Day. Sydney FC has failed to defeat the Victory in their past seven meetings with the home side getting the upper hand in three of those matches – including a 4-2 victory at Sydney earlier this season. The 4-0 drubbing of the ladder leaders the Roar last week suggests that the Victory has once again found their mojo and with Besart Berisha scoring two goals it is only positive signs for the Victory heading into this match up. Meanwhile the Sky Blues were again forced to pull a rabbit out of the hat after being outplayed for the majority of the match against the Wanderers but credit to the side for staying in the match – however their game plan of counter attack and having every player behind the ball could come undone against the Victory this weekend.
