2018 NRL Round 9 Betting Multi

The NRL season continues this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches for our NRL Round 9 Betting Multi below.

Broncos vs Bulldogs (Thursday, May 3 7:50pm AEST)
The first leg of our NRL multi begins in Brisbane with an expected Broncos victory. They’re coming off an impressive away win over the Rabbitohs and should enjoy home field advantage against the Bulldogs. They were contained by the Panthers in a 8 point loss. In the last match at Suncorp, the Broncos thrashed them 42-12. The Broncos also love playing at home after a win as they hold a 41-16 record since 2011. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are just 1-5 at Suncorp.

Knights vs Rabbitohs (Friday, May 4 6:00pm AEST)
The Rabbitohs were pretty poor against the Broncos last week but they should return to form. They have a 9-1 record against the Knights since 2010 and have a 3-0 record against them in Newcastle. The Knights are missing Mitchell Pearce which hurts. They did earn a victory against Manly last week, but the Sea Eagles are a woeful side at the moment. So the Rabbitohs should be able to outscore Newcastle. They’re the 3rd best team in the NRL for points scored and they face the 3rd worst defence in the league.

Panthers vs Cowboys (Friday, May 4 7:50pm AEST)
The Panthers aren’t getting much love in the betting and this is a good value bet in our multi. They thrashed the Cowboys 33-14 in North Queensland earlier this season and the Cowboys just haven’t found form all season. They were poor once again last week in a 18-8 loss against the Raiders. They’re scoring just 15 points per game and will likely struggle to penetrate the Panthers strong defence. They’re conceding just 15 points in defence and have looked equally strong in attack. They also have a 4-0 record as the home side in 2018 and a 14-7 record in night matches in NSW since 2016. So I’ll be getting on the Panthers here for a bit of value.

Dragons vs Storm (Sunday, May 6 2:00pm AEST)
This should be a cracking contest between the two best teams in the NRL. They both looked impressive on Anzac Day with big wins. In the end, I do like the value for the Storm. Their 50-10 win over the Warriors was superb and they looked unstoppable in the first half. The Dragons lost to the Warriors a few weeks back so Melbourne will use that to their advantage. They also won the last contest in NSW against them 34-22, which started with a 22-4 first half. After they scored 38 points in the first half last week, I can see the Storm outscoring the Dragons in the first half and holding them up in defence in the second half. So get on the Storm to win this.

Roosters vs Sea Eagles (Sunday, May 6 4:10pm AEST)
The last leg is arguably the safest bet of the round and the bookies agree, giving the Roosters $1.36 odds. The Sea Eagles are looking awful and the off field distractions probably don’t help. They’re also struggling with a long injury list and the Roosters should make them pay. The key in this matchup is the Roosters own a stronger defence. They’ve conceded just 15 ppg and the Sea Eagles are one of the worst defences in the NRL. They let in 44 against the Eels and couldn’t stop the Knights without Pearce. So the Roosters attack should rebound from a tough Anzac Day clash. Which also means they get a much larger break to freshen up for this one.
