2018 NRL Round 4 Betting Multi
The NRL season continues this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches for our NRL Round 4 Betting Multi.
Cowboys vs Panthers (Thursday, Mar 29 7:50pm AEDT)
In the first leg of our NRL multi, we’ll be backing the Cowboys to rebound against the Panthers. North Queensland has lost two straight matches against the Storm and Broncos. But both matches were on the road so they should enjoy home field advantage against the Panthers. For Penrith, they have a 2-1 record but it could easily be 0-3. They have started slowly in all three matches so far and I can see them struggling against the Cowboys in the first half. They’ll also be without Nathan Cleary at halfback after he injured his knee against the Bulldogs. So that will hurt their attack, which was already struggling. Furthermore, the Cowboys haven’t lost against Penrith at home since 2009 (5-0 record).
Roosters vs Warriors (Saturday, Mar 31 5:30pm AEDT)
The second leg of this NRL Round 4 multi will be the Roosters defeating the Warriors. Credit to the Warriors for starting the season 3-0. But they were incredibly lucky against the Raiders last week. They were down 19-12 with around 10 minutes to go and came back with 8 unanswered points. In Round 4, it will likely be another tough trip across the Tasman to face the Roosters. After Round 1, the Roosters have scored 30 or more points in both victories. Cooper Cronk is starting to gel with his new side and that’s scary for the Warriors this week. The other aspect has been the defence that is allowing an average of 10 points per match. Also since last season, the Roosters are 13-3 at home and the Warriors are just 3-11 in away matches.
Dragons vs Knights (Sunday, Apr 1 4:10pm AEDT)
In the third leg, we’ll be backing the Dragons to start the season with a 4-0 record. They easily rank 1st in the NRL for points scored. So the combination of Ben Hunt and Gareth Widdop is working out nicely. They smashed the Titans 54-8 last week and they haven’t conceded over 16 points this season. On the other hand, the Knights are 2-1 this season but they were thrashed 38-8 by the Roosters last week. They could be 0-3 after two close wins in the first two rounds. So just going on form, the Dragons have the Knights covered. St George has also won the last 5 against the Knights when they’re the home side.
Broncos vs Titans (Sunday, Apr 1 6:30pm AEDT)
After a bad loss in Round 1, the Broncos have rebounded with two straight close wins. So we’re predicting a third straight win as they face the Titans in this QLD derby. The Titans are coming off a 54-8 loss against the Dragons last week. They also lost 54-0 in the last meeting against the Broncos, which doesn’t bode well for this matchup. The Broncos hold a 14-2 record against the Titans and have won the last 7 meetings. This season, the Titans are already averaging 34 points against per match and the Broncos should be able to take advantage. They haven’t looked at their best in attack but they did score 24 points against the Cowboys in their only home match in 2018.
Tigers vs Eels (Monday, Apr 2 4:00pm AEDT)
In the last leg, we’ll be backing the Tigers to continue the Eels woes. After three rounds, the Eels have scored just 18 points, while conceding 92 points. They lack any direction in attack and that should continue against the Tigers. Wests have been a great team in defence so far as they average just 8.33 points allowed per match. Those three matches have been against the Storm, Roosters and Broncos, three sides that made the finals in 2017. The Tigers were also pretty unlucky against the Broncos last week as they conceded a controversial penalty in golden point. So they could easily be 3-0 and I’ll be backing the Tigers on Monday.
