2018 NRL Round 24 Betting Multi
The NRL season continues this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches for our NRL Round 24 Betting Multi.
Tigers vs Sea Eagles (Thursday, Aug 23 7:50pm AEST)
Our multi for Round 24 starts on Thursday with the Tigers getting past the Sea Eagles. Wests really need to win this or it’s officially season over. While they weren’t overly impressive against the Dragons last week, they shouldn’t face a tough challenge against Manly’s woeful defence. Despite leading 22-6 against the Titans last week, they ended up losing 42-34. Which now makes Manly the worst defence in the NRL as they’ve conceded 25 per game. The other factor is the head to head, where the Tigers have won the last 2 and 3 of 4. This season at Brookvale, they crushed them 38-12, which made it 2 straight games they’ve scored 30+ points against them. I think most of the Sea Eagles side is looking forward to the offseason and the Tigers should make them pay in a big way.
Cowboys vs Eels (Friday, Aug 24 7:50pm AEST)
The multi heads to North Queensland in Thurston’s last ever NRL game in-front of his home fans. Which should be enough motivation for the Cowboys to win this. The home side has found a bit of form lately with wins over the Broncos and Knights in back to back home games. They’ve also challenged the Sharks and Roosters in their last 2 road games. Meanwhile, the Eels will backup from a trip to Melbourne with another road-trip, which should be tough. They were no match for the Storm last week in a 20-4 defeat. They also have a poor record at this venue with 5 losses in the last 6 meetings. Not to mention a 1-3 interstate record in 2018.
Raiders vs Rabbitohs (Saturday, Aug 25 3:00pm AEST)
The third leg of this NRL multi will be the Rabbitohs ending a 2 game losing streak. Which is mainly based on their record in Canberra and against the Raiders. At GIO Stadium, Souths have won all 3 games here since 2010. The latest coming in 2014 as they comfortably won 34-18. In season 2018, they smashed the Raiders again 42-22 in Round 7. While Canberra did upset the Roosters last week, we think 2 wins in a row against top8 sides could be a tough ask for a side that is playing for pride. They still have a 1-9 record against top 8 sides in 2018 and it’s 1-3 at this venue. In contrast, Souths are 10-1 against bottom 8 sides and should enjoy attacking success against the Raiders defence.
Titans vs Storm (Saturday, Aug 25 5:30pm AEST)
Melbourne are back on top of the ladder and despite injury concerns, they should handle the Titans on the Gold Coast. Their depth is good enough to replace the missing pieces and the likes of Slater/Munster/Addo-Carr are still on the park. The home side is coming off a 42-34 win over the Sea Eagles. But they were poor in the first half and the Storm will prove a tough test. Gold Coast have struggled against top 8 sides in 2018 with a 2-10 record. Which is 1-5 in Robina. In the last meeting between these two sides at this venue, Melbourne smashed the Titans 38-0. Their record here since 2011 is 4-1 as well. Interstate games haven’t been a problem for the Storm in 2018 with a 7-4 record and 4-1 against bottom 8 teams.
Sharks vs Knights (Sunday, Aug 26 2:00pm AEST)
The multi will end at Shark Park with another Cronulla Sharks victory. They just have more play for in terms of top 8 position and that should be the key. They also love playing the Knights with a 7-0 record since early 2015. Cronulla is coming into this clash with 2 straight wins over the Cowboys and Storm. Their defence has been outstanding after allowing the Sea Eagles to score 33 points in their last game at this venue. So they should be able to handle the Knights attack, which hasn’t been overly impressive in 2018. They did beat the Panthers last week, however Penrith are really struggling at the moment. At this venue, the Knights average just 14 points per game since 2010 and they also score around 17 points per game overall this season. So I can’t see them outscoring the Sharks in the end.
