2018 NRL Round 21 Betting Multi
The NRL season continues this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches for our NRL Round 21 Betting Multi below.
Bulldogs vs Broncos (Thursday, Aug 2 7:50pm AEST)
Our multi starts on Thursday night with the Broncos defeating the Bulldogs. Brisbane is coming off a 12-10 win over a fellow top 8 team in the Sharks. Now, they head to ANZ with 5 wins in their last 6 overall games. They’ve also beaten the Bulldogs in the last 2 meetings, which includes a 2 point win in Round 9. The Bulldogs should be able to keep this fairly close again as they’re coming off a 16-4 win over the Tigers. However, they lack the points to keep up with the Broncos. In their last 3 at ANZ, they’ve averaged just 10 points per game. They also rank last in the NRL for points scored when they’re the home side.
Dragons vs Warriors (Saturday, Aug 4 3:00pm AEST)
The multi heads to WIN Stadium with a Dragons victory over the Warriors. While both sides have been inconsistent lately, the Dragons should enjoy home field advantage at WIN. They’re undefeated here this season after 4 straight wins. They’ve completely dominated sides in those games with 30 points scored per game. The Warriors can’t be trusted at the moment to put together a full 80 minute performance. Last week, they led at half-time on the Gold Coast but that ended in a 36-12 defeat. Scoring points has been another issue as they’ve averaged 12 per game in their last 4. With the Dragons pushing for a top 4 finish, that should give them extra motivation this week.
Roosters vs Cowboys (Saturday, Aug 4 7:30pm AEST)
The Roosters are looking in peak form at the moment after two impressive performances. Last week, they gave the Dragons a touch up in a 36-18 win. Latrell Mitchell was unstoppable as he crossed the line 3 times. Previously, they also trashed the Sea Eagles 56-24. So they’re averaging 46 points after those 2 wins and it shouldn’t slow down against the struggling Cowboys. While they beat the Knights 20-18 last week, it wasn’t a great performance as both sides continually made errors. Overall, they’ve won just 2 of their last 9 and also hold a 2-7 record in away games. They last travelled in Round 18 and that ended in a 38-12 loss against Canberra. So I can see a similar result at Allianz this week.
Sharks vs Sea Eagles (Sunday, Aug 5 2:00pm AEST)
The multi continues onto Shark Park with the Sharks taking down the Sea Eagles. Manly’s defence is looking shot and that will be the key in a Sharks win. Manly has lost 3 in a row at Brookvale and suffered a collapse against the Panthers last week. After leading 24-6, they would leak the next 22 points in a 28-24 result. So their confidence will be low. Meanwhile, the Sharks are 6th on the ladder and will be aiming for a top 4 finish. They’ve been good at home in 2018 with 6 wins from 9 and they shouldn’t have much trouble scoring against Manly. They also rank 4th in the NRL for points allowed.
Panthers vs Raiders (Sunday, Aug 5 4:10pm AEST)
The multi will end in Penrith with the home side defeating Canberra. The Panthers pulled off the great escape of the season last week but they should be stronger at Panthers Stadium. They’ve won 7 of 9 here this season and they rank number 1 in the NRL for points allowed in home games. The Raiders have lost 2 straight road games against top 8 sides and this should be a third. They got smashed by the Storm last week 44-10 and lost to the Sharks previously. They hold the worst defensive record in the NRL on the road. They’ve also lost 3 in a row against the Panthers since 2017.
