2018 NRL Round 2 Betting Tips
The NRL season continues this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches for our NRL Round 2 Betting Multi.
Roosters vs Bulldogs (Friday, Mar 16 6:00pm AEDT)
In the first leg of our NRL multi, we’ll back the Roosters to rebound against the Bulldogs. Sydney were poor in attack against the Tigers last week. But that should be a wake up call for this side. They have a 15-8 record after a loss since 2014 and the week at training should help them improve. The Bulldogs are coming off a 36-18 loss against the Storm. They lost twice against the Roosters last season by under 6 points. So it’s likely to be a close matchup again. But in the end, the Roosters talent should be enough to get them over the line.
Warriors vs Titans (Saturday, Mar 17 3:00pm AEDT)
The second leg will be the Warriors winning at home against the Titans. New Zealand finally snapped their losing streak in Perth last week and they’ll be super confident at home. The addition of Blake Green looks to have helped Shaun Johnson as he carved up the Rabbitohs. Tohu Harris was also strong in his first game for the Warriors. While for the Titans, they made an incredible comeback against the Raiders to win 30-28. However, they can’t afford the same slow start against the Warriors. In the head to head, the Warriors are 5-0 against the Titans and they’re 6-1 at home against them since 2011. The Titans are usually poor travellers so the Warriors can go 2-0 this season.
Panthers vs Rabbitohs (Saturday, Mar 17 5:30pm AEDT)
In the third leg, the Panthers should be too strong for the Rabbitohs. Penrith started slowly against the Eels but they out-muscled them in the second half to win by 10 points. Meanwhile for the Rabbitohs, they were poor in defeat against the Warriors. In this matchup, the two forward packs will be the main factor. The Panthers have a number of forwards that can put the Rabbitohs on the back foot. The Warriors easily moved the ball around against Souths and the Panthers should be able to do the same. At home, Penrith are 9-4 since last season and they can make it 10-4.
Storm vs Tigers (Saturday, Mar 17 7:30pm AEDT)
Credit to the Tigers for upsetting the Roosters last week but the Storm will be a huge challenge. The Storm showed no signs of slowing down without Cronk and Slater as they beat the Bulldogs 36-18. Slater will return in Round 2 and that will be boost this side even more. The Storm have a much better attack compared to the Roosters and that will be the main difference. Former Tiger Josh Addo-Carr is coming off 2 tries and Cameron Munster dominated in Round 1. The Tigers showed strong defence against the Roosters but in the end, they’ve lost the last three against the Storm and the Melbourne trip is always tough.
Sea Eagles vs Eels (Sunday, Mar 18 4:10pm AEDT)
The last leg of our NRL multi will be an upset at Brookvale Oval. The Eels are 6-0 against the Sea Eagles and that includes three straight at this venue. The Eels will learn from their second half collapse last week. They were up 14-0 at one stage and their outside backs were hard to stop. They also weren’t helped as Mitchell Moses went to the bin and was knocked out early in the match. While for Manly, they were pretty poor in a 19-18 loss against the Knights. They had more possession but completed just 67% of their sets with 17 errors. So the Eels are one of the value plays of the week.
