Titans vs Rabbitohs (Friday, Jun 8 7:50pm AEST)
Our NRL multi for Round 14 starts on the Gold Coast with a Rabbitohs victory. Souths are flying at the moment as they sit 3rd on the ladder. They beat the Sharks last week with their undermanned squad and they should continue their form against the Titans. Their forward pack is mostly led by the Burgess brothers and the Titans usually struggle to win the middle of the field. At CBus Stadium, Souths are 4-0 and they also beat them 36-20 in the only meeting last season. The Titans defence is really struggling to contain team’s like the Rabbitohs so that should be the difference in this contest. They rank last in the NRL for points allowed and face the 2nd best attack in the NRL by points scored.
Sea Eagles vs Warriors (Saturday, Jun 9 3:00pm AEST)
The second leg of our multi will be the New Zealand Warriors ending a horror run against the Sea Eagles. The Manly side has won the last 7 meetings, including 2 golden point wins in 2 of the last 3. So as the Sea Eagles take this game to Christchurch, the Warriors should be confident of winning this on their home turf. They have Shaun Johnson back in the lineup and he instantly improves their attack. Meanwhile, the Trbojevic brothers will have to backup from Origin and fly to NZ, two tough factors. They’re so important for this team and probably won’t be 100%. The Sea Eagles are also coming off a bad loss to the Cowboys in Round 13 and they’re injury crisis didn’t improve. So I think the Warriors get them at the right time.
Knights vs Roosters (Saturday, Jun 9 5:30pm AEST)
The NRL multi moves to Newcastle with a win to the Sydney Roosters against the Knights. They pumped the Knights 38-8 in late March and they’ve won the last 5 meetings. In those games, they’re averaging 33 points per game and have allowed a total of just 40 points. The Knights have been a poor defensive team all season as they rank 2nd last in the NRL for points allowed. They did beat up on the woeful Eels (30-4) last week but the Roosters are a much better attacking team. The added benefit of Cooper Cronk retiring from Origin should help him prepare for this matchup as well.
Storm vs Broncos (Sunday, Jun 10 4:10pm AEST)
The next leg in our NRL multi heads to Melbourne with another Storm victory over the Broncos. They’ve beaten them by 14 points already this season and won 30-0 in the last meeting at this venue. The last 3 meetings alone have been by 13+ in the Storm’s favour so they should be confident. An added benefit is Cameron Smith isn’t playing Origin this week so he’ll be fresh for this clash. The home side put up a terrible performance at AAMI Park in his absence a few weeks ago so they’ll be looking to rebound from that effort. The Broncos have struggled in attack against Melbourne and that probably won’t change. They also rank 9th in the NRL for point scored and face a tough challenge against the strong Storm defence.
Bulldogs vs Dragons (Monday, Jun 11 4:00pm AEST)
Our NRL multi ends on Monday with the Dragons picking up a win over the Bulldogs. Canterbury has won the last 6 meetings but the Dragons are a much different and better side in 2018. They sit 2nd on the ladder with a 9-3 record and have arguably been the best attacking team all season. So it’s hard to see the Bulldogs keeping up with them. They’ve been incredibly poor near the try-line in 2018 and as a result, they’ve scoring just 15.3 points per game. The Dragons have a really strong goal-line defence and that should be the difference this time around.
