AFL Round 6 Preview & Betting Tips
Western Bulldogs VS Carlton Blues (Friday, 7:50PM AEST)
Round 6 kicks off at Etihad Stadium with a huge battle between the Bulldogs and the Blues on Friday Night. The Dogs have had an extremely disappointing start to 2018, winning just 1 of their 5 games so far. Last weekend’s loss to the Dockers was their third 50+ loss for the season, highlighting their significant fall from grace.
The Blues are one of two teams that are yet to register a win in season 2018. They bounced back from an embarrassing 86-point loss to the Kangaroos to come within 10 points of the Eagles at Etihad Stadium last round. They won’t want to go too much longer without notching a win and we think this weekend is one of the best chances they’ll get.
Both teams will be sensing a huge opportunity to get a win on the board here. It should be a tight game, SmitTips has the Blues covering the line.

GWS Giants VS Brisbane Lions (Saturday, 4:35PM AEST)
This week’s Saturday twilight game features the Giants and the Lions in Sydney. The Giants would be extremely disappointed that they weren’t able to get the 4 points against the Saints last weekend and should come out firing in this one. They currently sit in third position with 14 points and have a huge chance to solidify their spot in the top 4 with a win this weekend.
The Lions missed a golden opportunity to get their first win of the season last weekend, falling to the Suns by 5 points in the Q-Clash. They’ll now have to travel to Sydney to take on the extremely talented Giants outfit who will be as hungry as ever to get a win.
It should be a straight forward win by the Giants on Saturday, and SmitTips expects them to cover the line.

Adelaide Crows VS Gold Coast Suns (Saturday, 7:40PM AEST)
The Crows bounced back from their disappointing home loss to the Magpies in Round 4 by defeating the Swans in Sydney last weekend. Despite being undermanned, they were able to grind out one of their best wins in recent memory. In a big boost for the Crows, they’ll welcome back star midfielder Matt Crouch to the line-up, who has missed the past couple of weeks with a hamstring injury.
The Suns were able to collect win number 3 in Round 5, defeating the Lions by 5 points in the Q-Clash. They’ve already won around the amount of games that most people thought they would for the entire season in just five rounds, although they will be coming up against the formidable Crows outfit this weekend.
SmitTips expects the Crows to deal the Suns a huge reality check this weekend, going wire-to-wire in a big win at home.

Collingwood Magpies VS Richmond Tigers (Sunday, 3:20PM AEST)
The final value game of the round comes from the blockbuster match between the Magpies and the Tigers. The Magpies have had a terrific month of footy, highlighted by huge back-to-back wins against the Crows and the Bombers. Their Anzac Day game was one of their best 4-quarter performances in recent memory, but they now have just 3 days break in-between games.
The Tigers have hit their straps and were simply too good for the Demons on Anzac Day eve. The lid is well and truly off at Tiger Land, as they are now first on the ladder for the first time since 1995. They look to have ANOTHER gun small forward in Jack Higgins, who has been exciting in his 2 games this season.
Although the Pies have been in really good form lately, SmitTips has the Tigers winning this one and covering the line in the process.
