2017 Super Rugby Round 7 Betting Tips

Hurricanes vs Waratahs (Friday 5.35pm AEDT)

The Hurricanes will enter this match after cruising to victory over the Reds. It wasn’t their best performance of the season but the win was never in doubt. The side has the ability to attack from anywhere on the field and they will be a hard team to defend against this weekend.
The Waratahs have had trouble in that area all season.

The side has struggled to stop their opposition from applying pressure and turning it into points. They missed an incredible 22 tackles in the opening forty minutes against the Crusaders on Sunday and despite a second half comeback, the side eventually allowed another three tries to lose by a convincing margin. We can’t see them turning it around in a short space of time and they will be blown off the park on the road in this one.

TIP: Hurricanes to win at the line (-19.5) – $1.90 with William Hill

Brumbies vs Reds (Saturday 7.45pm AEDT)

The Brumbies will be looking to put a lock down on their top spot in the Australian conference. They have two wins to their name, which is good enough for the lead at the moment as the rest of the Australian sides continue to struggle. We believe this will be an interesting match and a high scoring one with both sides willing to throw the ball around. The Reds proved they are capable of attempting to attack from anywhere against the Hurricanes on the weekend but their errors and failure to deliver the final pass cost them. They will still be without flyhalf Quade Cooper who will serve his last match of suspension.

Meanwhile the Brumbies will enter this match fresh after a bye. They proved in their last start they are hard to beat on home soil as it took the Highlanders until the final 10 minutes to clinch the victory. We are expecting them to be involved in another tight battle as the Brumbies hold on for their third win of the season.

TIP: Brumbies to win at the margin (1-12) – $2.75 with CrownBet

Stormers vs Chiefs (Sunday 1.15am AEDT)

The match of the round kicks off early Sunday morning and we are predicting an upset, with the home side to earn the victory. The Stormers put on their best performance of the season last week against the Cheetahs. They ran in eight tries while their defence held strong only allowing their opponent to cross for one. It was a big turn around after they had struggled against the Sunwolves a week earlier, with errors proving costly. However, the side was crisp on the weekend and they look like they are building nicely.

The Chiefs were flat in their victory over the Bulls and we are predicting the side to be lacklustre in this one. Teams generally struggle adjusting to play in South Africa in the first week and despite the Chiefs being unbeaten to begin the season we believe they will fall into this category too. Damian McKenzie has been brilliant while Aaron Cruden has played near his best, but it won’t be enough to earn the win on the road.

TIP: Stormers to win – $2.40 with Sportsbet
