Super Rugby Round 5 Preview
The 2017 Super Rugby season continues this weekend with the round 5 action kicking off on Friday night. We take a look at the best value matches and offer our Super Rugby Round 5 Preview and Betting Tips.

2017 Super Rugby Round 5 Betting Tips

Crusaders vs Western Force (Friday 5.35pm AEDT)

We are predicting a big victory for the home side in this one. The Crusaders enter this match as one of the three undefeated sides and they will no doubt make it five from five in this one. Their forward pack has been dominant and is returning to full strength with injured players returning and despite a couple of casualties in their back line they were able to defeat the Blues on the weekend.

The side has made it three straight come from behind victories as they prove they have a lot of character and determination. We can see them correcting their slow starts this weekend to blow the Force off the park.
The Force enter this match on the back off a bye and surprisngly they have left their best player at home. Dane Haylett Petty will have to watch on from Perth as his teammates take to the field in this one. It is a massive blow for the side as he is a wallaby and by far their best player. He brings a lot of experience and is a big strike weapon for them.

TIP: Crusaders to win at the line (-18.5) – $1.90 at William Hill

Rebels vs Waratahs (Friday 7.45pm AEDT)

The Rebels head into this match winless and down on confidence. They were able to be competitive for the first time this season and it was last week against the Chiefs. The side put together their best performance defensively but it wasn’t enough. We are expecting them to put together a similar performance this Friday night but unfortunately for them they are without key players due to injury and the Waratahs will look to expose their weaknesses.

Bernard Foley should return to the line up this weekend and it couldn’t have come at a better time. The Waratahs have just one win to their names in 2017 and are in a tough situation. We are predicting them to hit their straps with their playmaker and game controller back on the field and it will take a lot of pressure off the players surrounding him. Israel Folau will have a big match in this one and we believe he will cross for a five pointer at some stage.

TIP: Waratahs to win at the line (-6.5) – $1.90 at Sportsbet

Brumbies vs Highlanders (Saturady 7.45pm AEDT)

The home side is on a two game winning streak as they they claimed top spot on the Australian conference with a win over the Watahs on the weekend. It was their best performance of the season in both attack and defence and there was a lot for them to build upon. Henry Speight was involved in everything and crossed for two tries to seal the match in the second half. However, the side made 15 handling earrors in the game and missed 25 tackles, they can’t afford to do the same this weekend.

The Highlanders have just one win in their four matches but they have faced all New Zealand opposition. Their biggest loss of the season came last weekend as they were outclassed. They will want to bounce back strongly and we are predicting them to do so on the road. The New Zealand sides have had one up against the Australians in recent years and we think this will be no different. The Brumbies will stay competitive but ultimately the clincial attack and strong defence of the Highlanders will prove the difference.

TIP: Highlanders to win at the margin (1-12) – $2.70 at Sportsbet
