2017 Super Rugby Round 15 Betting Tips
The Super Rugby season continues this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches and offer our Super Rugby Round 15 Preview and Betting Tips.
Blues vs Reds (Friday 5.35pm AEST)
To kick things off we believe the Blues will cruise passed the bookmakers line in this one and earn a vital victory over the Reds. The Blues held on a for a draw against New Zealand conference rivals the Chiefs last week and unfortuantely for them their finals hopes took another hit. The Blues have been strong all season but haven’t been able to get the victories in tight matches and it has cost them dearly. However, that won’t be a worry for them in this match.
The Reds season is all but over after they suffered a humiliating defeat to the Force on home soil. The 14-point defeat was largely due to their ill-discipline in key moments. They lost Eto Nabuli and Nick Frisby to yellow cards late and the Force capitalised.
TIP: Blues at the line (-15.5) – $1.90 at Sportsbet
Crusaders vs Highlanders (Saturday 12.35pm AEST)
Easily the match of the round – the two New Zealand sides will do battle with the Highlanders out to cement a spot in the finals and hand the Crusaders their first defeat of the season.
The Crusaders did it easy in their last start against the Rebels on the road. The side ran out to a comfortable victory at half time and then they put it in cruise control for the remainder of the match. Despite being on the road for that match they will be fresh as they got plenty of rest for their stars. They will have the advantage of playing in front of their home fans in this one which will be a huge boost.
Meanwhile the Highlanders overcame a half-time deficit to defeat the Waratahs at home. The result never looked in doubt as they were the stronger side throughout the match and eventually their attack paid dividends as they broke the New South Wales side down. It will be a lot harder in this contest against the premier defence in the competition.
TIP: Crusaders at the margin (1-12) – $2.80 at William Hill
Chiefs vs Waratahs (Saturday 3.05pm AEST)
The Waratahs head into this contest with their season on the line. They are nine competition points behind the Brumbies and will need to finish the season undefeated to have any chance of playing in the knockout stages. However, we believe that hope will come to an end this weekend.
The Waratahs defence has been poor for the entire season and they have leaked a lot of points. The Chiefs attack has been strong for the majority of the year and they will be able to break them down. The Chiefs have scored more tries in their last two matches than their opponents but they haven’t done enough to come away with the points – a loss against the Crusaders before a draw with the Blues. However, we believe they will cruise to a big victory in this one.
TIP: Chiefs at the line (-16.5) – $1.90 at Sportsbet
