2017 NRL Round 26 Betting Tips
The 2017 NRL season reaches its conclusion this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches and offer our best 2017 NRL Round 26 Betting Tips.
North Queensland Cowboys vs Brisbane Broncos (Thursday 7.50pm AEST)
The Cowboys have been ravaged by injuries all season and this weekend is no different. The side is looking closer to full strength than a fortnight ago but they are still missing key players who would be vulnerable to any team. However, they have shown they shouldn’t be written off and especially not when their season is on the line. The side can stay in the eight if they lose but they also could fall out of a finals position, depending on other results. They will be giving this match their everything with the hopes of avoiding the loss and leaving their fate to chance’s hands.
Meanwhile the Broncos suffered an embarrassing loss at home soil to the Parramatta Eels. It is a rarity for the Broncos to conceded 54 points, especially at Suncorp stadium. However the side responded to an Eels loss a month ago by whipping the Titans by 54 points. We don’t think they will get a result like that but we are backing them to earn a narrow win in this Queensland derby.
TIP: Broncos at the margin (1-12) – $2.90 with CrownBet
Manly Sea Eagles vs Penrith Panthers (Saturday 5.30pm AEST)
An exciting match is expected on Saturday night between these two sides with finals coming a week early for the Sea Eagles and Panthers. While the Panthers can’t drop out of the eight, they will be playing for a home-semi final which will be invaluable for the opening week of the final series. They suffered a surprising loss against the Dragons last week but they receive a boost for this weekend’s match with Matt Moylan named on an extended bench and likely to play in Saturday’s match. He will relieve the pressure on Nathan Cleary’s shoulders. However, young gun Dylan Edwards suffered an injury and will miss the clash.
Meanwhile the Sea Eagles survived after a huge scare against the New Zealand Warriors last week. A Daly Cherry-Evans field goal got them over the line and it saw them remain in eighth position of the ladder. If they lose this match they will need the Dragons to lose to remain in the top eight. They will be giving their everything but we believe the structure of the Panthers, which also comes with a brilliant attack and the return of Moylan, will earn them the victory in this one.
TIP: Panthers at the margin (1-12) – $3.50 with Sportsbet
Newcastle Knights vs Cronulla Sharks (Sunday 2pm AEST)
The Cronulla Sharks have had a poor end to their season and if they are hoping to defend their premiership they will need to build momentum and secure a home semi-final. The Sharks suffered their third loss in their past four games on Saturday night when the Sydney Roosters overturned a half-time deficit to defeat them. However, the Sharks are a side that can’t stay down for long and they have a strong recent history against the Knights.
The Knights have been valiant throughout the season but they have showed cracks in their past two games as they have allowed 90 points in total. We are predicting another big score line to be put on Newcastle as the Sharks run away with the contest.
TIP: Sharks at the line (-9.5) – $1.90 with CrownBet
