The 2017 NRL season continues this weekend and we take a look at the best value matches and offer our NRL Round 23 Preview and Betting Tips.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs (Thursday 7.50pm AEST)
The Bulldogs have become a laughing stock in recent weeks. The side is on a five game losing streak and despite giving coach Des Hasler a two-year extension in the middle of the season, there is a lot of people calling for his head. The Bulldogs have the worst attack in the competition and they rarely look as if they are organised or working to something other than five hit ups for a terrible kick. Chase Stanley played halfback last week and has been named there again but we can’t see him doing much to turn things around when he has rarely played in the position.

Meanwhile the Bunnies should last week they won’t be laying down for the rest of the season. The side was trailing by 10 points with eight minutes remaining and managed to turn the tables for a two-point win after Adam Reynolds’ clutch kick from the sideline. We are predicting them to produce another victory in this one.

TIP: Rabbitohs at the line (-4) – $1.90 at CrownBet

Brisbane Broncos vs Cronulla Sharks (Friday 7.50pm AEST)
The Broncos will enter this contest on the back of their biggest victory of the season. The side tore the Gold Coast Titans a part on their way to a 54-0 victory. Ben Hunt was the star of the show as Andrew McCullough’s replacement at hooker and Brisbane will need him to continue his dominant performances if they are a chance of a premiership without their hooker. However, we are predicting him to be targetted in a defence, a massive weakness of his, by the Sharks forward pack.

The Sharks suffered a loss last week and their forward pack is to blame. They were out muscled up the middle of the field and that is something they will look to rectify this weekend. We believe they will be up for the contest and set the platform for their backs to work with and they will hold on for a narrow win.

TIP: Sharks at the margin (1-12) – $4.00 at William Hill

Penrith Panthers vs North Queensland Cowboys (Saturday 7.30pm AEST)
The Panthers and the Cowboys played in a tight low scoring contest the last time they played but we are predicting a different result in this one. The Cowboys and Panthers are desperate for the win in this for a similar reason. The Panthers recently moved into the eight and are on a streak that has seen them win nine of their past 11 games while the Cowboys are on a two game losing streak. However, we are predicting the two sides to play an exciting brand of football on Saturday night with the home side, the Panthers, not afraid to throw the ball around. Meanwhile their defence isn’t known for being the best which will lead to the Cowboys finding the tryline themselves.

TIP: Points over 38.5 – $1.88 at William Hill
