2017 NRL Round 19 Betting Tips
The 2017 NRL season continues this weekend and there are six matches to take place. We take a look at the best value matches for our NRL Round 19 Preview and Betting Tips.
New Zealand Warriors vs Penrith Panthers (Friday 6pm AEST)
NRL Round 19 kicks off on Friday night with a do-or-die match between the Panthers and Warriors. Both team’s seasons hang in the balance and a loss would all-but see their years come to an end.
The Warriors are favourites in this one and take home field advantage into the game. It is a huge boost for the side as they have won six of the eight matches they have hosted on home soil while the Panthers have three wins from nine matches on the road.
We are predicting the Warriors spine of Keiran Foran, Shaun Johnson and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to have a big impact on this match and play the main role in the Warriors earning the important two competition points. The three are attacking weapons and they have the ability to tear every defence in the competition apart. The Panthers have been on the wrong end of some big score lines this season and we are predicting them to keep this one close but ultimately come out on the wrong side.
TIP: Warriors at the margin (1-12) – $3.10 at Sportsbet
Newcastle Knights vs Brisbane Broncos (Saturday 5.30pm AEST)
The Knights head into this one as massive outsiders and it is no surprise why. They have just three wins in the last two seasons and they have let a lot of leads slip, including a 10-point one last week against the Bulldogs with only five minutes remaining. The side has basically no confidence in their ability to close out games and it is shown every single week.
Meanwhile the Broncos will head into the match with the majority of their superstars backing up from Origin. Darius Boyd and Anthony Milford are on the sidelines through injury but fortunately for Brisbane they have a lot of depth. Jordan Kahu has been playing great at fullback while Benji Marshall has been winding back the clock starting as Milford’s replacement. The Broncos will be looking to jump into the top four with a win on Saturday night and we are backing them to be successful.
TIP: Broncos at the margin (13+) – $2.10 at William Hill
Manly Sea Eagles vs Wests Tigers (Sunday 2pm AEST)
Similar to the above game, the Sea Eagles head into this one as overwhelming favourites against the Tigers. The Sea Eagles are currently in the top four but are coming off a loss. The side dropped competition points to the Penrith Panthers, largely due to their ill-discipline. They gave away 14 penalties in the match and that is recipe for disaster. However, to their credit they only lost the match by eight points and only conceded 16, despite the Panthers having the majority of the possession and territory.
Meanwhile the Tigers will enter this contest on the back of a bye. The week before that they produced one of their better performances of the season to defeat the Knights and climb off the bottom of the table. The side still are a long way off contesting with the top sides and the home side should cruise to victory.
TIP: Sea Eagles at the line (-15.5) – $1.90 at CrownBet
