2017 NFL Week 9 Betting Tips

November 2, 2017 by Posted in NFL Tips

The 2017 NFL season continues this week and we take a look at the Week 9 action and offer our preview and betting tips below.

New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills (Friday 11.25am AEST)
The weekend kicks off with a blockbuster – not really. However, the Bills have proven so far this year they are a contender for the playoffs and currently boast a 5-2 record and picked up another impressive victory last week as they defeated the Raiders 34-14. They have a serious defence while their offence has steadily improved over the season and got a serious boost with a trade which lead to the addition of Kelvin Benjamin.

Meanwhile the Jets, who were suspected to be one of the worst teams, have a 3-5 record. They will take some beating in this one but ultimately they don’t have the class in attack to pressure the Bills’ defence in this one. Quarterback Josh McCown won’t be able to get enough done, despite a strong showing last week.

TIP: Bills at the margin (14+) – $4.10 with Sportsbet

Miami Dolphins vs Oakland Raiders (Monday 12.30pm AEST)
Poor Raiders fans, they believed their pain would come to an end this season but unfortunately it has only gotten worse. The side fell to another disappointing loss as they turned the ball over far too frequent against the Bills last week and have dropped to a 3-5 record. If they are to make the playoffs, they will need a better performance from quarterback Derek Carr while Marshawn Lynch needs to find his beast mode or go back to retirement.

Fortunately for the Raiders, they are up against the Dolphins and have a serious chance of earning the win on the road. The Dolphins are 4-3 but were shutout for the second time this season. They will need to click into gear offensively this weekend but they traded away one of their best players. We are predicting a road win.

TIP: Raiders at the margin (1-13) – $2.58 with Sportsbet

Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions (Tuesday 12.30pm AEST)
You could normally circle this one as an exhilerating contest between two great teams. However, injury has ruined the season for the Packers and you can book this one as a win for the Lions.

The Packers will enter this one on the back of a bye, which will give quarterback Brett Hundley more time to adjust to the offence. It will likely be all for nothing as they will attempt to get their running game going but it won’t be enough. Hundley isn’t a quarterback that will lead an injury ravaged team to a win in this one.

Meanwhile the rollercoaster season of the Lions continued last week as they suffered a narrow loss against the Steelers. Fortunately for them, they will be back up to .500 with a win in this one.

TIP: Lions at the line (-2.5) – $1.90 with William Hill

Dallas Cowboys vs Kansas City Chiefs (Monday 8.25am AEST)
This sets up as the battle of the running games but it will be the better quarterback who decides who wins.

The Chiefs were able to secure the win last week but it was less than impressive. It was good to see them get back on the horse and dig deep though. The defence was again the winning force as the offence seemed out of sink. They need to find their early season groove and get back into the swing of things.

What’s going on with Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension. At this point, it seems as if his six-game suspension is reinstated, however, another appeal could see him back on the field. He is obviously a huge gain or loss depending on whether he plays or not and he is essential for the Cowboys’ chances. However, we are predicting the away team to secure the win regardless and by a narrow margin.

TIP: Chiefs at the margin (1-13) – $2.70 with Sportsbet
