NFL Week 16
The 2017 NFL season continues this weekend and we take a look at the primetime Australian televised matches and one other game with the best value. Continue reading for our NFL Week 7 Preview and Betting Tips.

Oakland Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs (Friday 11.30am AEST)
The Raiders have dropped to four consectuive losses and it’s their attack which is faulting. Quarterback Derek Carr has returned from injury but over the past four games the Raiders have managed just 53 points. It isn’t enough to earn victories and not up to the standard they set last year. The Raiders will need to keep their offence on the field for longer to give their defence a break but it will be hard for them to build momentum against the Chiefs’ defence.

The Chiefs suffered their first defeat of the 2017 season last week against the Steelers. It was a disappointing opening three quarters from the Chiefs and they managed less than 10 yards of offence in the opening half. They finally found their groove in the fourth but they weren’t able to earn the victory. We are predicting them to bounce back on Thursday night, especially if Tyreek Hill is right to play.

TIP: Chiefs at the margin (1-13) – $2.20 at Sportsbet

New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons (Monday 11.30am AEST)
The Superbowl rematch has arrived and funnily enough, the Falcons will enter this match after blowing a 17-point lead against the Dolphins last week, but it still doesn’t compare to the 28-3 lead they gave away against the Patriots in last year’s Superbowl… Nothing will compare to that.

The Falcons will obviously be seeking redemption, and they probably had their eyes on this contest enter the game against the Dolphins last week. They have had a hot and cold season and they will be able to get a lot of demons off their minds with a win on Monday. The Falcons offence has been poor the past two weeks but quarterback Matt Ryan and wide receiver Julio Jones should be able to take advantage of the poor Patriots defence.

The Patriots have won two straight games but they still aren’t convincing a lot of people they are superbowl contenders. Their offence has been solid and will continue to be with Tom Brady calling the shots but their defence has lacked confidence. If the Falcons can get it together on Monday then they will cause an upset.

TIP: Falcons to win – $2.60 at William Hill

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Redskins (Tuesday 11.30am AEST)
The Redskins escaped with a victory over the 49ers on the weekend and it would have been a disaster if they suffered a defeat. It wasn’t a great performance from the Redskins who turned the ball over cheaply on two occasions and in a scoring position. Kirk Cousins will need to take care of the ball this weekend as the Redskins can’t afford to hand Eagles scoring opportunities.

Meanwhile the Eagles have been one of the stories of the season. Carson Wentz is in his second season in the NFL and is throwing the ball like a veteran. The side has a 5-1 record, which is equal best in the NFL and they have the advantage of playing in front of their home fans in this conference rivalry match. The victory against the Panthers last week on Thursday night football was arguably their best win of the year and we are predicting them to continue their momentum, especially with the extra days rest.

TIP: Eagles at the line (-4.5) – $1.90 at CrownBet

Los Angeles Rams vs Arizona Cardinals (Monday 4am AEST)
The Rams earned a victory last week against the Jaguars which has moved them to 4-2. It was an important win and they really showed a strong defence on the day. They have moved up the ranks in experts’ predictions of reaching the playoffs and they are faced with an important conference match up on the weekend. The Rams will need Todd Gurley to be at his best on the ground to open up the passing lanes.

Meanwhile the Cardinals proved their season isn’t over just yet with a bounce back win over the Buccaneers. They traded for Adrian Pieterson midweek and it proved to have an immediate impact as the veteran running back ran for more than 100 yards and picked up a touchdown. He will be key again, similar to Gurley, to allow for quarterback Carson Palmer to exploit the Rams’ defence through the air. We are predicting a tight battle but ultimately the Cardinals will get the win on the road.

TIP: Cardinals at the margin (1-13) – $2.85 at Sportsbet
