Carolina Panthers vs Philadelphia Eagles (Friday 11.25am AEST)
The Panthers and Eagles will head into this one in strong form. Both sides have 4-1 records and sitting in great positions in their divisions. A victory would stamp a real claim as Superbowl contenders.
Cam Newton was in the media for all the wrong reasons last week but he delivered on the field on Monday morning to deliver his side a 27-24 victory over the Lions. Newton threw for three touchdowns and converted on a third late in the game which then put the Panthers in the position to win.
Carson Wentz received all the attention in the Eagles’ last win, and rightfully so, he threw four touchdowns in a standout performance. However, it is easy to overlook their ground game which has let them have a balanced attack. The side ran for 122 yards in the win. However, the experience of Newton and the Panthers’ attack will see them breakdown the Eagles defence in a win at home.
TIP: Panthers at the margin (1-13) – $2.18 with Sportsbet
Denver Broncos vs New York Giants (Monday 11.30am AEST)
This is definitely a case of – by how much?
The Giants are zip and five to start the season and their year got a whole lot worse when Odell Beckham Junior went down with a broken ankle. He will need surgery on the injury and his season is basically over. Eli Manning will need to produce the performance of his career to breakdown the Broncos’ defence in this one to earn a win.
The Broncos are struggling on the offensive end but they still have a 3-1 record. Why? They have the best defensive efficiency in the league. They have a great opportunity to get their offence going and we are predicting them to take advantage of the disheartened Giants and put together a comfortable win.
TIP: Broncos at the line (-11.5) – $1.90 with William Hill
Tennessee Titans vs Indianapolis Colts (Tuesday 11.30am AEST)
Marcus Mariota has missed the last two matches for the Titans and they have dropped to consecutive losses. The quarterback is a chance of making it to the field in the match against the Colts but with we are predicting the Titans to air on the side of caution for Mariota’s injury. He is still a young quarterback and they won’t want to ruin his career by creating a reoccurring hamstring problem.
The Colts have the same record as the Titans and their problems stem from the same thing, their quarterback is on the sideline with injury. The Colts are definitely a side, which is more reliant on Andrew Luck, and we are predicting them to fall in this one.
TIP: Titans at line – no markets available yet
Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers (Monday 4am AEST)
Aaron Rodgers did it again last week, he produced another match winning drive to break the hearts of Cowboys fans.
The Vikings aren’t getting much love after their narrow victory over the Bears. They were pretty lucky with close calls but they were able to do what was necessary to get the win. Sam Bradford is still on the sideline which will leave Case Keenum in the pocket. He hasn’t been great but he’s been far from bad and he hasn’t thrown a pick which is a huge bonus.
The Packers’ injury list continues to grow which will continue to mount the pressure on Rodgers to perform. He has plenty of targets but his offensive line will need to buy him more time this weekend. We are predicting the pressure to get to him and it will lead to a low scoring game.
TIP: Under 46.5 points scores – $1.91 with William Hill
