It was a great week for punters last week as all favourites won! We went 3-1 in our best bets as well. So with the bulk of games on Christmas Day this week, we are looking for more winners. In our NFL Week 16 Preview, we’ll look at the four best bets across the NFL this week, starting with the Vikings against the Packers.
Be sure to check our NFL Betting Tips page in the lead up to the 2017-18 NFL playoffs as we begin to preview the teams chances to take out Super Bowl LLI.

NFL Week 16 Betting Tips

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (Sunday, 12:30pm AEDT)
The key game of the Sunday schedule was looking like another classic between the Vikings and Packers at Lambeau Field. However, with the Packers out of the playoff race, they’ve shut down Aaron Rodgers for the season. Which means Hudley is back under centre. Before Rodgers returned last week, Hudley was showing good signs of improvement and he’ll get to face the Vikings D once again. In the last meeting, he re-placed the injured Rodgers and tossed 3 interceptions in a 23-10 loss.

The Vikings are coming off a comfortable win against the Bengals 34-7. They’ve locked up the division and at 11-3, they’re currently looking at a first-week bye in the NFC. We can see their defence having another solid game against Hudley here. But we can’t see a blowout and the Packers should be competitive, without winning. The Vikings won 23-10 in the first meeting and the 1-13 margin would be the best bet. In the Vikings last four road victories, the 1-13 margin is 4-0. We can’t see the Vikings dropping this game so we’ll be taking the 1-13.

TIP: Vikings by 1-13 points – $2.44 at Sportsbet

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints (Monday, 5:00am AEDT)
The Falcons and Saints clash is arguably the best of the early games as both sides battle for NFC playoff position. With the Panthers playing the Bucs, the winner of this game is crucial. The Saints will start as favourites but there is value for the Falcons. Just two weeks ago, the Falcons beat them 20-17 at home. But the Saints are mainly favourites because of an 8-3 home record against the Falcons and they’ve won 5 straight overall at home. They did beat the Jets by 12 points last game but it wasn’t overly impressive.

The Falcons will be confident after beating the Saints recently and they have playoff inspirations. At 9-5, they can still win the division with luck and that’s the key motivation for Matt Ryan’s men. They’ve also played in 3 straight games with a margin under 6 points so the line is attractive. In New Orleans, they won 45-32 last time and we can see them covering the line.

TIP: Falcons +5.5 – $1.95 at Sportsbet

Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys (Monday, 8:25am AEDT)
The Seahawks and Cowboys are both holding an 8-6 record so the winner of this game will still be a chance at playoffs. But the loser will be looking to next season. Last week, the Cowboys survived a tough road game against the Raiders with a 3 point win. They’ll start as the favourite at home against the Seahawks as a result. While for Seattle, they were blown away by the Rams in a 42-7 thrashing. They’ve now lost two straight games and their season is on the line in Dallas. The key in this game will be the Dallas D against Russell Wilson.

The Cowboys have kept sides under 18 points in their last 3 victories. Wilson has been running for his life behind a terrible offensive line. They scored just 7 points against the Rams and the Cowboys have a decent pass rush. That will allow Dak Prescott to control his offence throughout the game for a victory. In the end, the value is for the Cowboys -5. The Seahawks are 2-7 ATS when facing the Cowboys and 3-7-1 ATS on the road. The Cowboys won 38-14 in their last home game and they’ve found form since losing Zeke.

TIP: Cowboys -5 – $2.05 at CrownBet

Oakland Raiders at Philadelphia Eagles (Tuesday, 12:30pm AEDT)
In the last game of the week, the Eagles host the Raiders. In their first game without Carson Wentz of the season, the Eagles beat the Giants 34-29 last week. They’ll be looking forward to a home game after 3 straight on the road. But the defence has averaged 32 points against in their last 2 games and that opens up this game for the Raiders. They were close to beating the Cowboys last week but went down 20-17 in the end. They do have a 4-1 record ATS when facing the Eagles so the +9 line is good value.

We can’t see the Eagles losing this game but the defence can keep this close. Derek Carr will likely not get much help in the running game and that will force him to pass against the poor Eagles 20th ranked pass defence. The Raiders defence will be confident of stopping Foles. They picked off Prescott twice last week and Foles is still a backup Quarterback. So we’ll take the Raiders to cover at CrownBet.

TIP: Raiders +9 – $1.96 at CrownBet</strong>
