2017 NFL Week 15 Betting Tips

December 13, 2017 by Posted in NFL Tips

The NFL continues this weekend with a full slate of games. With just three weeks to go in the season, tensions are starting to rise as teams fight for the few remaining spots in the playoffs. We take a look at some of the key games of Week 15 of the NFL season and give our betting tips below.

Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts (Friday, 12:25pm AEDT)
Friday football this week is basically a battle for drafting position as the 4-9 Broncos head to Lucas Oil Stadium against the 3-10 Colts. But both sides are coming into this game with decent form. The Broncos found some offence against the Jets in a 23-0 shutout. However, they haven’t won on the road this season (0-6). While for the Colts, they played in one of the worst snow games in a while and just lost in overtime against the Bills.

Both these teams are very similar and we’re expecting a close, but high scoring contest. They both allow 25+ points per game. We’ll look past the Broncos shutout last week because of their road record. The Colts should also enjoy being back at home under the dome. So the overs has a great trend in this matchup. It’s 10-2 when the two sides meet and 5-0 when the Colts host them. So we’ll be taking the over total at CrownBet.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs (Saturday, 12:25pm AEDT)
In the second leg of Sunday NFL action, we have ourselves a crucial AFC West battle between the Chargers and Chiefs. They both have a 7-6 record and the winner will likely win the division, so the stakes are extremely high. The Chiefs finally snapped their losing streak last week as they thrashed the Raiders 26-15. While for the Chargers, they’ve won four straight and smashed the Redskins 30-13 at home last game. Which gives the Chargers favouritism in the betting.

However, the Chiefs are 3-0 against the Chargers at home and 5-0 overall. But we’ll be looking at the under total in what should be a defence oriented matchup. The under total is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings. The Chargers are also 7-1 against the under and the Chiefs are 13-5 against the under at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chargers D is allowing just 18 points per game and the Chiefs held the Chargers to 10 points in the earlier meeting this season. Take the under total.

TIP: Under 46.5 points – $1.94 at CrownBet

New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers (Monday, 8:25am AEDT)
Christmas has come early in the NFL with a potential preview of the AFC Championship game in Week 15. The 11-2 Steelers currently lead the 10-3 Patriots in the race for AFC home-field advantage during the playoffs. Last week, the Steelers rallied for the third straight week as they beat the Ravens by a point. Whereas the Patriots suffered a defeat against the Dolphins in Miami. However, they’ll welcome Rob Gronkowski back into an offence that had one of it’s worst games in recent memory. Brady tossed 2 interceptions and completed just 24 of his 43 throws.

The importance of Gronkowski to this offence can’t be understated and we can see Brady returning to MVP form. The Steelers are riding an eight game winning streak but the defence has been saved by Big Ben and his offence over the last few victories. The Pats also have the Steelers number lately with an 8-2 head to head record. They smashed the Steelers 36-17 in the playoffs last season. They’ll hold no fears in Pittsburgh either, having won 4 of the last 5 at Heinz Field. So in the end, we’ll be backing the Pats to rebound and win by 1-13 points.

TIP: Patriots by 1-13 points – $2.54 at Sportsbet

Dallas Cowboys at Oakland Raiders (Monday, 12:30pm AEDT)
On Monday afternoon, the 6-7 Raiders host the 7-6 Cowboys in Oakland. The Cowboys have found their offence again in recent games and are now back in the hunt for playoffs. They beat the Giants 30-10 last game and thrashed the Redskins 38-14 at home previously. They’re just one win behind the last NFC wildcard spot, so this is a crucial game. While for the Raiders, they dropped a divisional game against the Chiefs last week and they sit one win behind in the AFC West. The 26-15 loss did flatter the Raiders as they scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

They’ll also likely miss Amari Cooper in the passing game. Their recent results at home are 7 point wins over the Broncos and Giants, two below-average teams. Whereas, the Cowboys have scored 41 total points in their last 2 fourth quarters and we’re confident they can finish off the Raiders on the road. Their also 4-1 ATS on the road and the Raiders are just 2-4 ATS at home/1-4-1 ATS overall in their last 6 games. So we’re backing the Cowboys to cover.

TIP: Cowboys -3 – $1.95 at Sportsbet
