2017 NFL Week 14 Betting Tips
In our NFL Week 14 Preview, we’ll look at the four best bets across the NFL this week. We start in Atlanta with a huge Friday clash between the Saints and Falcons.
New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons (12:25pm AEDT)
On Friday, the 9-3 Saints will head to Atlanta for an NFC South battle with the 7-5 Falcons. Currently, the Saints lead the division and beat the Panthers 31-21 last week. So the NFC South is in their hands. While for the Falcons, they lost at home against the Vikings 14-9. The Vikings D is strong but we can see a rebound for the Falcons offence here. At 7-5, the Falcons are just behind in the wildcard race so this is a crucial home game for them. The two sides haven’t met since last season and the Falcons swept the series. However, this proves to be another close contest.
They both average 20 points allowed per game on defence so the difference will be on offence. The Saints have found an impressive one-two punch on the ground with Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. This has allowed Drew Brees time in the pocket and he hasn’t been giving up the ball (17 touchdowns, 5 interceptions this season). While the Falcons only managed 3 field goals against the Vikings, Matt Ryan should find his combination with Julio Jones this week (253 receiving yards against the Bucs). The Saints D has allowed 20+ points in their last three games and has struggled against Matt Ryan in the past. So in the end, we’ll be looking at the over total which has a good trend in Friday games this year. In the 2 matchups between the Falcons and Saints last season, the over total easily saluted as they combined for 70+ points. It’s good value at CrownBet and we’re backing it in.

Philadelphia Eagles at Los Angeles Rams (8:25am AEDT)
In Los Angeles on Monday morning, we’ll get to watch the first of many QB battles between Carson Wentz of the Eagles and Jared Goff from the Rams. This could be another Brady/Manning rivalry in the making and we’re excited about this game. The 10-2 Eagles are coming off their first loss for a while after the Seahawks beat them 24-10 in Seattle. So they’ll be making back-to-back road trips against tough NFC West teams. The 9-3 Rams have won two straight games and snapped the Saints winning streak a few weeks ago.
The Rams defence is just as good as the Seahawks and we can see another tough game for Wentz. They allow just 18 points per game and the likes of Aaron Donald will be dangerous. While on offence, Gurley is a beast running the ball and Goff doesn’t make many mistakes. So in the end, this will likely be another close game and the Rams close it out at home in a 1-13 margin.

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers (12:30pm AEDT)
The rivalry between the Steelers and Ravens continues in Week 14 as they battle at Heinz Field. The Steelers are on a seven-game winning streak but have looked shaky in their last two wins. They were down 17-3 at half-time against the Bengals and struggled against the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers. While for the Ravens, they’re riding a three-game winning streak and have playoffs on their mind. They also are looking to avenge a 26-9 loss against the Steelers at home this season. They’ll be confident of winning in Pittsburgh especially after going 3-0 in the last 3 visits. The Steelers will also have some personnel missing this week in JuJu Smith-Schuster (suspension) and Ryan Shazier (injury). So we’ll be looking at the underdog line for the Ravens. They have covered the line in 4 of the last 6 against the Steelers. They’re paying $1.95 for the +5 line and we’re all over it.

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins (Tuesday 12:30pm AEDT)
On Tuesday, the Dolphins will again face the Patriots but with a twist. Rob Gronkowski is out suspended for the Pats and the Dolphins D will be ecstatic. They lost 35-17 against the Pats just a few weeks ago and the Fins are coming off a 35-9 win over the Broncos. But obviously, the 10-2 Patriots are a different beast.
The Bills could only manage 3 points against them and Tom Brady is controlling his offence. They have a strong running game and they’ll find someone else to fill the void left by Gronk. They’ve also beaten the Dolphins in the last 3 meetings and have scored 30+ points in those games. The fact that they just beat the Dolphins by 17 points is hard to look past them here again. Jay Cutler isn’t a great QB and the Broncos didn’t capitalise on his mistakes last week. The Patriots D will and we can see another large winning coming up for the Pats.
