2017 NFL Week 13 Betting Tips

November 29, 2017 by Posted in NFL Tips

In our NFL Week 13 Preview, we’ll look at the four best bets across the NFL this week. The week starts with a NFC East battle in Dallas and we’ll preview the game, along with the other key games of the week below.

Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys (Friday 12:25pm AEDT)
On Friday, the Cowboys will host the Redskins and will be hoping for a turnaround on offence. Since losing Zeke in the running game, they’ve managed just 7 points per game. Dak Prescott is getting pressured in the pocket and they don’t have the options in the backfield to release the pressure. So the Redskins defence will be keen to keep the Cowboys struggles going. They beat the Giants 20-10 last week at home and at 5-6, still hang onto slim wildcard hopes.

Washington will be confident of beating the Cowboys after a few good recent performances on the road. They went into New Orleans and should have really beaten them before a late collapse. In their previous road game, they upset the Seahawks in Seattle. They’ve also won two of the last three games against the Cowboys in Dallas. In the betting stats, they have a 12-4 record ATS on the road and an even better 9-1 record when they play the Cowboys in Dallas. Whereas the Cowboys are just 1-4 ATS at home in their last 5 games and 6-12 overall. They have a 7-15 ATS record against the Redskins in their last 22 games overall. CrownBet currently has great odds for the Redskins +1 and we’re all over it. The Cowboys will struggle to score points and the Redskins will capitalise all game. Take the Skins.

TIP: Redskins +1.0 – $1.98 at CrownBet

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints (Monday 8:25am AEDT)
This is one of the best matchups of the week as NFC South rivals go to battle. Both sides are 8-3 this season and the winner will be in prime position for the divisional title so this is a crucial game. Last week, the Saints eight-game winning streak was ended by the Rams. But they’ll look forward to a home game and have a 4-1 record in New Orleans this season. While for the Panthers, they scraped past the Jets on the road. They’ve now won four straight games and will be confident of knocking off the Saints.

The two teams met earlier this season and the Saints thrashed them 34-13, so the Panthers will be looking for revenge. In the betting, the over total points has a great trend in this matchup. In the last 2 meetings in New Orleans, the scoreline has finished 41-38 in both games with each side gaining a victory. So considering the winning side has scored 41 points themselves, the over total of 48.5 points seems low. In this matchup, the over total is 5-1 in New Orleans and the total reached 65 points in the Saints last home game. Take the over.

TIP: Over 48.5 points – $1.91 at CrownBet

Philadelphia Eagles at Seattle Seahawks (Monday 12:30pm AEDT)
The 10-1 Eagles are flying high and will be looking to hurt their Seahawks playoff chances on their turf this week. Carson Wentz is fast becoming the best young Quarterback in the game and he’s backed up by a dominant defence. They’ve allowed just 12 points in their last 2 victories. Overall, they allow just 17 points per game this season and score an average of 31 points on offence. The Seahawks will likely struggle to contain them as they showed in their last home game.

The Falcons put up 34 points on their defence and the Eagles will likely do the same. But the Seahawks do the have the ability to keep up with the Eagles scoring power and can keep this close. They also own a 5-1 record ATS when playing the Eagles. So we’re looking at the 1-13 margin for the Eagles. In 3 of their 5 road games this season, they’ve won by this margin. The Seattle trip is tough and the last 3 games here have ended in a 3 point margin. So we’ll back the Eagles to win by 1-13 points.

TIP: Eagles 1-13 points – $2.47 at Sportsbet

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals (Tuesday 12:30pm AEDT)
In the Tuesday NFL feature game, the Steelers are back in primetime this week against the Bengals. Last week, everyone expected the Steelers to thrash the Packers but that wasn’t the case. They won in the end by a late field goal 31-28, but it wasn’t an overly impressive performance. While for the Bengals, they’ve strung together two wins in a row and have a 5-6 record. They’re no chance for the AFC North division but could still finish in the wildcard position. However, the teams they’ve been playing recently are bad and this is no form guide. Last week, they handed the 0-11 Browns another loss and they only just beat the struggling Broncos before that game.

The Steelers are definitely their bogey side as they’ve lost eight of the last 10 meetings. They’ve also lost the last four at home against them. The Bengals likely problem will be stopping the run. Bell rushed for 134 yards against them in the Steelers 29-14 victory earlier this season. The Bengals run D is ranked just 5th last in the NFL for rush yards allowed. This inability to stop the run will open the field up for Big Ben and his combination with Brown. The Steelers D struggled last week but they’ll be confident of returning to their dominant ways. They allowed just 179 total yards against the Bengals in the last meeting. So in the end, we can see the Steelers covering the line this week and we’ll be backing them at Sportsbet -5.5.

TIP: Steelers -5.5 – $2 at Sportsbet
