2017 NFL Week 10 Betting Tips

November 9, 2017 by Posted in NFL Tips

The 2017 NFL season continues this weekend and what a crazy year it has been so far. We take a look at four more matches, including the three primetime games televised in Australia in our NFL Week 10 Preview and Betting Tips.

Arizona Cardinals vs Seattle Seahawks (Friday 12.25pm AEST)
The Seahawks suffered a disappointing loss last week against the Redskins. The Seahawks had the game in the bag but their defence couldn’t hold the Redskins out for one last drive. However, the biggest issue for the Seahawks is their offensive line. Quarterback Russell Wilson has been pressured at the third-highest rate so far this season and a lack of impact from his running backs sees him leading his team in rushing. The Seahawks need to get a running game and some protection for their quarterback and they will be contenders again.

The Cardinals have had an average season considering the expectations placed on them at the beginning of the season. However, injuries to quarterback Carson Palmer and running back David Johnson were always going to be near impossible to overcome. The addition of Adrian Peterson has helped the team’s running game but it won’t be enough to earn them the win at home. The Seahawks in a tight one.

TIP: Seahawks at the margin (1-13) – $2.49 with Sportsbet

Denver Broncos vs New England Patriots (Monday 12.30pm AEST)
This has been a match to circle and definitely watch in previous years. However, it doesn’t have the same feeling this season with the disappointing performances from the Broncos. However, it will still be interesting to see Tom Brady going up against the Broncos’ defence.

The Patriots aren’t blowing teams away like they have in the past but they are doing enough to get the victories. They have secured five straight wins and are back in the conversation of being Superbowl champions. The concerns surrounding their defence have gone quiet while Tom Brady is Tom Brady.

Brock Osweiler made his return in a Broncos jersey in a start last week. He was disappointing in a 51-23 loss to the Eagles in which he threw for one touchdown, two intercepts and completed on 50% of his pass attempts. He will retain the starting spot in this one but we can’t see him helping his side earn what would be a miraculous win.

TIP: Patriots at the line (-7.5) – $2.00 with William Hill

Carolina Panthers vs Miami Dolphins (Tuesday 12.30pm AEST)
The Panthers reached the Superbowl two seasons ago on the back of a dangerous offence lead by Cam Newton. The script has surprisingly turned and it’s their defence leading them to victory. They were able to restrict the Falcons to 17 points on the weekend and it was enough to get the win. Newton threw for only 137 yards in the win but he was able to do plenty of damage with his legs – rushing for 86 yards.

The Dolphins are a .500 team, it’s pretty incredible when you consider their play and their stats. They haven’t been impactful with their attack or defence and have been outscored by 63 points. They also rank last in the league in scoring. This lack of offence will impact them when trying to breakdown the Panthers defence and it will lead to a cruisy win for the home side.

TIP: Panthers at the margin (14+) – $2.42 with Sportsbet

Buffalo Bills vs New Orleans Saints (Monday 5am AEST)
What is wrong with the Bills? Whenever they start to look good, they capitulate. Last week they were embarrassed by the New York Jets and they dropped an opportunity to state a huge claim on a spot in the playoffs. They still have a 5-3 start but the record books show it’s the fifth time they’ve been above .500 through eight games since 2000 and they have gone on to miss the playoffs on four of those occasions. Will history repeat itself? A loss this weekend would be a huge step in the wrong direction for the Bills, especially at home.

The Saints are on a six game winning streak. It’s quite remarkable considering how awful they were in their first two games. Drew Brees has been huge for this side on the offensive end and they have been finding a nice balance with their rushing. However, it’s been their defence which has made the most improvements and it’s putting them in the conversation for a deep run in the playoffs. We are going to ride their momentum and predict them to earn the win in this one.

TIP: Saints at the line (-3) – $2.00 with William Hill
