2017 NFL Super Bowl Betting Tips
America’s sporting night of nights (or afternoons) is upon us and this year looks set to be an all-time classic. Super Bowl LI will be played on Monday, February 6th (AEDT) and we have you covered with a preview and betting tips for the big game.
The Atlanta Falcons are the surprise packet in the field after claiming the NFC South Division this year off the back of a career year from quarterback Matt Ryan.
The Falcons play inside at the Georgia Dome and will be afforded that luxury in Houston for Super Bowl LI as well. Atlanta’s record while playing inside this year sits at an impressive 10-2. There is no doubt the synthetic turf and pure weather elements suit Matt Ryan and the high-powered Falcons offense that features the likes of Julio Jones, Devanta Freeman, Tevin Coleman and Mohammad Sanu.
The Patriots on the other side of the coin are the team everyone expected to be in this position. They’ve only lost twice all season and have won both of their playoff games by double-digits at home in the elements of Foxboro.
Tom Brady continues to answer every ESPN and AP critic with a throwback performance and Atlanta’s weakness (defense) will have the old stager licking his lips at the prospect of a signature performance to round out his career.
The line is set at -3.5 in favour of the Patriots and the points total is set at a whopping 58.5 indicating that there will be plenty of points in the contest.
The Falcons have been notoriously fast starters all season long and have scored points in bunches. The Patriots defense albeit solid certainly aren’t a shutdown group and we can expect Matt Ryan and the Falcons to move the ball and score points again.
The issue is, can they find an answer for Tom Brady who has all of his offensive weapons healthy (minus Rob Gronkowski), a championship pedigree and the best coach in the league in his corner.
The line is precariously placed at the moment by Vegas and oddsmakers worldwide. It’s sitting just over that vital field-goal and it does make it tough to push forward a bet as we’ve got the game marked as -3 New England.
The best angle we can find in this game is on the UNDER on the points total.
Bill Belichick is the king of scheming an opponent’s star wide-receiver out of the game and you can bet your bottom dollar he’ll have plenty of things in store for Julio Jones and be daring Matt Ryan to rely on his 2nd and 3rd tier receivers to win this game.
On the other side of the ball, Brady and the offense will be trying to keep Ryan off the field and frustrate the offensive weapons with short passes, staggered runs and long drives.
The pressure cooker that is Super Bowl Football teamed with the fact Belichik has had two weeks to work out how to stop or at least slow down this Falcons offense makes our best bet in Super Bowl LI
