With only four games on the schedule this weekend, we’ll need to pick correctly in each of them, but we think we are up to the challenge as we take Melbourne City and Adelaide United to draw in leg one. Both teams have been a little inconsistent of late, with Adelaide slipping within just three points of dropping out of the top six while Melbourne City now sit just one point clear of the Victory in third. The two sides haven’t played out a draw in their last 12 fixtures but we think that could change this weekend as both squads will be playing fairly defensive and risk free as both are in precautious positions.
Leg two of out multi will be Newcastle to earn an away win over Wellington on Saturday evening. The Jets were fantastic in their last game, knocking off the ladder leaders, Sydney FC, to put them within just eight points of the minor premiership. They have a fantastic 13-5-4 record on the season so far while Wellington sit on the bottom of the table having won just 4 of 22 and losing their last two.
Leg three of our multi will feature Sydney FC to earn victory over Brisbane. The Sky Blues have taken their foot off the throttle in recent weeks, going down to Newcastle in Week 22 before a back to back AFC Champions League tie against Kashima Antlers resulted in one loss and one draw for Sydney. We expect them to get back on track this weekend and beat a Brisbane team that has been extremely inconsistent throughout the year so far.
The final leg of our multi will be the red-hot Melbourne Victory to defeat the Central Coast Mariners at home on Sunday afternoon. The Victory have won their last two matches against quality opponents in Adelaide and Melbourne City and came away from their AFC Champions League double header against Kawasaki Frontale with a draw and a win. Central Coast have won just one game in their last 10 and were beaten convincingly by Perth a few weeks ago.
