2017-18 A-League Round 16 Betting Multi
After a hectic period in the A-League that saw three games being played over about ten days, regular scheduling resumes this weekend with Week 16 set to kick off Friday night. As usual, we present another A-League multi of the week for the best value games below.
The first two legs of our multi will feature the two top teams on the ladder and inarguably the two best looking teams through the opening 15 rounds, Sydney FC and Newcastle to earn victories over Adelaide and Brisbane respectively this weekend. Sydney have been near untouchable so far this season, racking up 12 wins from 15 games and being defeated just once. Their 38 goals for is the most in the league while their 12 goals against is the fewest. We have confidence in back them against anyone, anywhere, this season.
The Jets drew with Sydney FC a week ago and backed up the impressive performance by downing the Central Coast Mariners 2-0 last game. The improvement has come out of no where for the Jets, and their ability to put the ball in the back of the net, in particular, has been outstanding. They have scored 34 goals through their 15 games so far, which is 14 more than any other team not named Sydney, and should win at home against Brisbane Friday night.
Leg’s three and four of our multi will feature the two Melbourne teams to win their respective games. The Victory host Perth at home, and while they went down to Phoenix in Wellington in the midweek clash, it was after an 8th minute red card to their centreback Rhys Williams. Perth haven’t scored a goal in their last three matches, going down 6-0, 3-0 and 2-0 to Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne City in the process. We like them to continue their losing streak here, especially after the cross country flight on limited rest.
Melbourne City will travel to Central Coast to take on the Mariners on Sunday afternoon. After a disappointing loss to WSW back in Round 13, Melbourne City bounced back to win their next two games against Wellington and Perth. They’ll get another relatively easy matchup here and while this is the only leg we are a little sceptical over, with just five games to pick from every week, we’ll take a flyer here.
