Chiefs vs Blues (Friday 5.35pm AEDT)
The Blues picked up their first victory since the opening round when they impressed a lot of people when they defeated the defending champions. They were strong in the first half against the Jaguares but they allowed them back into the game and if it wasn’t for the boot of Ihaia West keeping the scoreboard ticking over the Argentinian side could have easily came back into the contest and earned a victory. The Chiefs have been able to win in South Africa, Argentina, New Zealand and Australia in successive weeks and they will be looking to carry that away form onto home soil this weekend. The Chiefs are one of the best attacking teams in the competition and they are the only side to have scored over 200 points and they are currently on 248 points in six matches. Reds vs Highlanders (Saturday 7.45pm AEDT)
The Reds have been a resurgent side since the new coaching pairing of Matt O’Connor and Nick Stiles were appointed to take over the side. The Queensland side is still searching for its first win but they have been a part of two narrow losses and also played out a draw with the Blues. Their defence has been vastly improved but there is still work to do on their attack as they have scored the least amount of points in the competition. They are currently sitting on the bottom of the Australasian conference and things aren’t looking positive for the side for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile the Highlanders are undefeated since losing their opening match against the Blues. The defending champions were shocked when they faced the Force on the weekend when they were behind by 14 after the first 20 mintes, however the Highlanders were able to regroup and eventually win the match 32-20. They won’t be making the same mistake this weekend and with wins against the Waratahs and Rebels already in Australia we are backing them to overcome the Reds at Suncorp stadium.

Sharks vs Lions (Sunday 1.05am AEDT)
The Lions have been a strong outfit this season and are the surprise package of the competition. They have defeated the Chiefs in New Zealand and narrowly missed out on upsetting the Crusaders at home last weekend. Their forward pack is one of the strongest in the competition and on the back of that they can dominate at the breakdown and put themselves into a great position in attack.
The Sharks will be fresh in this match after coming off a bye but they will still have a lot of players on the sidelines, as they will be without 5 of their starting players including Patrick Lambie who they rely on for a lot of their attack. Despite lacking attack this season they have been able to earn victories on the back of their defence, which is the best in the league. We are backing the Sharks to get the win on home soil, as they will be desperate to return to winning ways after their narrow loss to the Crusaders prior to the bye.
