2016 Super Rugby Round 5 Betting Tips
The 2016 Super Rugby season continues this weekend as round 5 action kicks off on Friday night. We take a look at the best matches with a lot of value in our 2016 Super Rugby Round 5 Betting Tips.
Hurricanes vs Kings (Friday 5.35pm AEDT)
In the opening match of the Super Rugby round 5, we will be backing the Hurricanes to pick up a massive victory against the struggling Kings. The score line favoured the Hurricanes last week in their match up against the Force. They were able to come up big during the important part of the match as they raced in four tries in the final 20 minutes. If they are able to show that attacking spark this weekend against the Kings it could turn into a cricket score.
The Kings are winless throughout their opening three matches and they have conceded an incredible 158 points in those three games. To their credit, they are averaging just under 20-points score a game, however their defence is soft and is easily cracked. The Hurricanes will be without Nehe Milner-Skudder for the rest of the season and he is a big piece of their attack but it seemed as if they began to find a way to score without him against the Force and they should improve on that this weekend. The Kings lost by 33 last week to the Crusaders and we expect their loss to be even larger this weekend.

Rebels vs Highlanders (Saturday 7.35pm AEDT)
The Highlanders raced out to a 30-point lead against the Waratahs in Sydney last week and it looked as if they were going to hand the New South Wales side one of their worst ever defeats. However, in the second half they went to sleep and it almost cost them but they held on to win 30-26. The defending champions have lost just the one game and they will be looking to cement their position on the top of the New Zealand conference this weekend.
Meanwhile the Rebels are sitting in a similar position as the Highlanders as they have just the one loss whilst winning three games. They picked up their best win last week as they defeated the Sunwolves on the road as they earned their second victory outside of Australia. They have improved drastically this season but it is another challenge when they take on the defending champions. The Highlanders will ultimately prove too strong and they showed last week that playing on the road is no issue for them.
TIP: Highlanders -5.5 @ $1.90 with Sportsbet
Reds vs Waratahs (Sunday 4.05pm AEDT)
The second instalment of the Queensland vs New South Wales rivalry comes this weekend after the Waratahs came out on top in the opening round of the competition this season. The Reds have improved since then as they have a new coaching system with Matt O’Connor and Nick Stiles splitting the duties. In the two matches they have been in charge the Reds have been competitive and earned a draw whilst they could have easily defeated the Rebels but ultimately fell short by two points. They will be competitive again this week but it will be hard for them to stay in the contest for the full 80-minutes.
The Waratahs will receive a massive boost this weekend with their flyhalf Bernard Foley returning to action. The Wallabies international hasn’t played this season for the Tahs and it has forced Kurtley Beale into the flyhalf position where he isn’t totally comfortable. He will improve this weekend as he moves to inside centre and has a more relaxed role in the side. The combination between Beale, Israel Folau and Foley will be on show this weekend and it should be enough to see the Waratahs score plenty of points. Folau needs to become more involved and Foley will be able to do that this weekend.
TIP: Waratahs 13+ @ $3.10 with William Hill
