2016 Super Rugby Round 4 Betting Tips

The 2016 Super Rugby continues this weekend with Round 4 action kicking off on Friday night. We take a look at some of the biggest matches of the round and offer our 2016 Super Rugby Round 4 Betting Tips.

Waratahs vs Highlanders (Friday 7.45pm AEDT)

The rematch of last years preliminary final will see the Waratahs wanting to return to winning ways whilst gaining revenge for their embarrassing loss on home soil against the Highlanders last year. The Tahs suffered a disappointing loss to the Brumbies in their latest match but they were in the contest and they could have easily came out on top. They will still be without flyhalf Bernard Foley which is a big blow but Kurtley Beale has played solid in the position in the opening two games. Israel Folau will need to step up as it is likely for the Highlanders to turn to the boot to gain field position and territory as they have committed a lot of errors coming out of their own half this season.

The Waratahs are coming off a bye and will be fresh heading into this one but will be without their hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau which is a big loss as it will put a lot of pressure on 23-year-old Hugh Roach at the line out and in the scrum. Fortunately for the Tahs the Highlanders don’t excel in either of these areas. The Waratahs will prove too strong on their home soil and get the victory.

TIP: Waratahs -2.5 @ $1.91 with CrownBet

Crusaders vs Kings (Saturday 5.35pm AEDT)

The Crusaders will enter this match with the benefit of having had a bye last week and they will be fresh and looking for an easy victory. The Kings have been on the wrong end of two thrashings to start the season as their defence has been penetrated far too easily. They have conceded 43 and 58 points in their two matches and they were on home soil. It will be even harder for them to lift as they face the Crusaders in Christchurch this weekend. If the side falls behind early and drops their heads this could turn incredibly ugly.

The Crusaders have a far superior side and it will show by the end of the match. The line is currently at 31 points and as they have suffered back-to-back defeats by more than that score line we are expecting them to lose yet again by another large margin.

TIP: Crusaders -31 @ $1.91 with Ladbrokes

Stormers vs Brumbies (Sunday 4.15am AEDT)

In arguably the biggest match of the weekend, the undefeated Brumbies look to keep their perfect start to the season in tact when they begin their tour of South Africa. The Brumbies have stuck to their attacking style of rugby that was begun last year and they have improved drastically over the offseason. Their annihilation of the Hurricanes in the opening round was just the beginning as they backed up that performance with two 13+ wins against Australian rivals the Waratahs and Western Force. They will head into this match full of confidence whilst the Stormers are coming off a controversial loss against the Sharks. A big decision to award a penalty try which also resulted in a Stormers player receiving a yellow card. This ultimately proved too much for the home side to overcome and it would have been a bittersweet pill to swallow. It will give them a lot of motivation heading into this match up but unfortunately for them they have a poor record against the Brumbies. The Australian side has came out on top in 12 of the 18 meetings whilst they have won five of 10 at the Stormers home ground. The strong performances of the Brumbies to start the season suggests they have a big season ahead of them and we will be backing them to come out on top on this one.

TIP: Brumbies -0.5 @ $1.91 with William Hill
