Waratahs-vs-brumbies-2016

The 2016 Super Rugby season started with a lot of running rugby as 54 tries were scored across all matches in the opening weekend. We are hoping for the style of play to continue into round 2 as we offer our 2016 Super Rugby Round 2 Betting Tips.

Brumbies vs Waratahs (Friday 7.45pm AEDT)

A huge match for rugby fans has the top two Australian teams facing off in a match that will go a long way to determining which side will finish the season on the top of the conference.

The Brumbies began their season with a near perfect performance against the Hurricanes as they defeated the side 52-10. They ran away with the match right from the beginning and they never gave the Hurricanes a chance to feel as if they were in the contest. Captain Stephen Moore led from the front as he scored a try in his milestone 150th Super Rugby match. The hooker also made two line breaks and continually put his hand up for a hard damaging run. The side’s attack was tremendous as they constantly caused havoc for the Hurricanes defence.

Meanwhile the Waratahs were able to earn a victory on home soil against the Reds but it was far from what we expect from the New South Wales outfit. They should have put 50 points against the side they were facing and they drew the second half 10-10. The Waratahs may have needed another match or two before facing the Brumbies that have started the season on fire and we expect the home side to earn a narrow victory.

Highlanders vs Hurricanes (Saturday 5.35pm AEDT)

The all New Zealand affair will be the first time these two sides have faced since last year’s grand final. The Hurricanes were the big favourites in that one and it will still be hurting the team that they were unable to get the win against the Highlanders. However, a lot has changed for the team since then with eight players having left the club. It was evident in last week’s match against the Brumbies that the loss of Ma’a Nonu and Conrad Smith will really hurt the side as the backline has lost two New Zealand internationals that are lock down defenders as well as terrific in attack.

Meanwhile the Highlanders were disappointing in their loss to the Blues in their opening match. They were a part of an exiting first half but their defence was lacking and they couldn’t hold onto the ball. If they can find the important pass this week and complete their set pieces then they will earn the victory at home.

Reds vs Western Force (Saturday 7.45pm AEDT)

The Reds and Force are both coming off losses against Australian sides and it is likely these two will be fighting it out to avoid finding themselves on the bottom of the Australian conference at the end of the season. The Force had a slow start but were able to turn things around last week and played surprisingly well. Whilst the Reds had a similar performance as they entered halftime trailing 20-0 to the Waratahs they were able to tie the second half with a 10-10 score line.

We are expecting a close one with both sides having weaker squads. The Reds have lost a lot of players since last season and injuries haven’t been kind to them either. It could good either way so we will be taking the Force with the head start at the line.

TIP: Force +5.5 @ $1.93 with CrownBet
