Blues vs Brumbies (Friday 5.35am AEST)
The Brumbies are sitting on the top of the Australian conference but their spot in the finals isn’t locked up as they are sitting on equal competition points as the Waratahs. The Brumbies put on a convincing performances against the Reds on the weekend as their superior forward pack and back line was enough to see them earn a bonus point victory against their Australian rivals. The Brumbies should have David Pocock back on the field this weekend, which is a massive boost for the side as he has a high work rate and is a constant threat at the breakdown to turn the ball over.
The Blues missed out on an opportunity to be in the race for the finals as they let a half time lead slip against the Hurricanes. It would have been a big upset if they were able to pull off the victory but it has been a similar story for the Blues all season as they have been competitive in all of their matches but against the stronger teams they haven’t been able to get the job done. We are seeing a similar scenario play out this weekend as the Blues will match it with the Brumbies in a lot of areas but eventually they will come up empty handed as the Brumbies will earn a vital victory for their finals hopes.

Crusaders vs Rebels (Saturday 5.35pm AEST)
The Rebels have had a break out season but unfortunately for them it hasn’t seen them be in a position to push for a finals spot. However, they have a lot to build on for next season, as they are becoming a true contender in the Australian conference with a lot of big wins this season. However, their inability to put together consistent 80-minute performances every week has led to their downfall, as they have missed out on important bonus points.
Meanwhile the Crusaders suffered their third loss of the season to open up the finals series as there is a massive logjam of sides within a couple of competition points on the ladder. It was the second time the side has lost to the Chiefs this year but they will be likely to bounce back with a comfortable win this weekend. The Crusaders have a superior forward back and will be able to take advantage at the set piece as the Rebels have a poor scrum and an even worse line out. The Crusaders are going to be able to keep the scoreboard ticking over and in the final 20-minutes they will put the foot down and run away with the contest.

Waratahs vs Hurricanes (Saturday 7.45pm AEST)
This is a do or die match for the Waratahs as they are essentially playing a finals match a couple of weeks earlier as they are required to win their final two games to cement their spot in the finals series.
Luckily for New South Wales they will have the home field advantage in this one as these two sides have split their 20 matches evenly with 10 wins each but they have both registered seven wins on home soil. This advantage will be crucial as the two sides are evenly matched across the board. The two sides both have big, strong and experienced forward packs whilst their backlines have a good mix of youth and experience.
The Hurricanes fly half Beauden Barrett is coming off a strong couple of performances with the All Blacks and he is beginning to state his claim as one of the best fly half’s in the game. It will be a big match up between him and the Wallabies fly half Bernard Foley. However, where the Waratahs will get the upper hand is in the outside centre position as Israel Folau is beginning to make that spot his own, as he has crossed for multiple tries in his last few games since shifting from fullback. With the home field advantage, the Waratahs will come out on top in a tight contest.
