2016 State of Origin Game 3 Betting Tips
When the final siren sounded on the 22nd of June, the Queensland Maroons had won the second game of the 2016 State Of Origin . This victory clinched them the series 2-0. This coming Wednesday night we will all sit down to watch a dead rubber Game 3. A game that simply doesn’t matter, but hopefully it will still be an entertaining game.
The Maroons are back-to-back winners. Just as the old guard begins to vacate, a new streak seems to start its run. 34-year old Corey Parker will play his last Origin match this week, while at the same time we will see Gavin Cooper debut for the Maroons at the age of 30. The Only changes come in the form of Michael Morgan who is out with a knee injury and Josh Papalii who has hip issues. Veteran Nate Myles and debutant Gavin Cooper will be their replacements.
For the Blues, loosing always takes it’s toll. Dylan Walker failed to reach the heights he was predicted to during games one and two. Dropped. Greg Bird Started on the bench during games one and two was able to string together 208 metres gained and 54 tackles. Dropped.
Walker makes sense. When he was named, everyone expected him to have a big impact. Guess we forgot he’s not the Dylan Walker of 2014 anymore… Who Knew. The Bird move kind of makes sense as well. He’s 31 and does make an impact off the bench. However, with the series over Daley might as well try something knew.
James Tedesco has been handed his Origin debut, named as Fullback. Originally this pushed Matt Moylan out of the side, but due to Adam Reynold’s shoulder injury Moylan is back. Josh Dugan, who has missed the last two origins due to injuries, is back named in the centres. The Blues missed the impact of Dugan during the first two games. Wade Graham is also coming in to the Blues, starting in the second row.
The issue with this one is simply that the Maroons have nothing to lose. Take the risk away and we should see a team who is prepared to take the risks needed to string plays together and put up a huge score.
The Blues however have nothing but pressure. The last thing they want is the clean sweep. Losing the series 3-0 will hurt and losing game 3 at home… Ouch! The other possible result is the “well we can’t win so why try” mentality we’ve seen in years past. No second efforts, no risks, no reward.
I’d like to see an all-action 80 minutes, resulting in a Cooper Cronk golden point. But alas I can’t see that happening. The Maroons thrive in the ‘no risk’ arena. In a see of sky blue, the Maroons will strike hard and fast and clench the series in a absolute blowout.

Dane Gagai has been struggling all season. The Knights are so bad it was suggested Gagai be left out of the Maroons squad. Well after the first two games, Gagai has four tries and including a hatrick in game two. Because of this we’re happy to back him to score the first try again.
