The 2016 NRL season is well and truly marching along as we take a look at some key games from Thursday night through to Monday night with our NRL Round 3 betting tips.

North Queensland Cowboys Vs Sydney Roosters (Thursday, March 17)

After having a slow start to the season and coming off a tough loss to the Eels last week, the North Queensland Cowboys will be firing at home on Thursday night. Despite the loss, the Cowboys are sticking with the same team. The sheer size and experience of the Cowboys should see them enjoy a comfortable win at home.

The Roosters are simply lacking experiance, which has been evident in their last two games. They were demolished by a clearly superior Rabbitohs in Round 1 and last week suffered a terrible loss to an undermanned Raiders. The Roosters are also sticking with basically the same line up, only Vincent Leuluai has bee omitted as he will be replaced on the bench by Mitchell Frei.

The Cowboys at home are always hard to beat and with the Rooster lacking experience and direction we can’t see this one being any different.

Bet On: North Queensland Cowboys -12.5 – $1.92 at Crownbet

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Vs Parramatta Eels (Friday, March 18)

Sitting 3rd on the ladder with back-to-back wins, the Bulldogs have started the season with a bang.
However, that is a slightly misleading statement. Round 1, the Bulldogs were ferocious against the Sea Eagles, before last week they barely seemed to show up. They simply enjoyed the win entirely on the Moses Mbye’s last second drive to the line… but hey “a win is a win”. This week we’re expecting to see the Round 1 version of the Bulldogs. Kerrod Holland has been omitted with Chase Stanley coming in.

The Eels looked pretty good during the first couple of rounds this season. Though that may not be the case this week after suffering several lineup losses as Parramatta will have to venture forward with out the strength of Nathan Peats and Manu Ma’u.

Consistency is key and the Eels just don’t have it. The Canterbury faithful will happily watch the Dogs get a win against the Eels on Friday night.

Bet On: Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 1-12 – $3 at CrownBet

Gold Coast Titans Vs Wests Tigers (Saturday, March 19)

James Tedesco was on absolute fire last Monday night. With a hat trick in the bag, he and the Tigers claimed victory over the Sea Eagles. Putting all their off field dramas aside, the Tigers have made it clear they’re here to win. Mitchell Moses has lit the match with his first two performances this season and with Luke Brooks back in this side almost no team is safe. The only sour note from their victory over the Sea Eagles is Curtis Sironen exited the game early with back and hamstring complaints. He’s out this week, but should be back for Round 4. Jack Buchanan has been named as his replacement.

The Titans are currently holding on, but for how long only time will tell. They won Round 1 against the Knights, only to go down to the Storm in Round 2. Greg Bird has been invaluable for the Titans this season. With an almost flawless passing game. He may cause some trouble for the Tigers.

Bet On: Wests Tigers – 2.5 – $1.92 at CrownBet

St. George Illawarra Dragons Vs South Sydney Rabbitohs (Sunday, March 20)

30-2 was the score last Sunday when the Dragons lost to the Sharks. Nothing seemed to go their way. Considering he’s playing for a new contract, it wasn’t surprising Benji Marshall was the Dragons’ best player. Josh Dugan continues to struggle in the centre and we don’t really expect much to change this week. Kurt Mann is out injured and will be replaced by Euan Aitken in the centres.

The Bunnies are seemingly unstoppable. The prodigal son Sam Burgess is crushing and nothing or noone seems to be able to stop him. In the first two rounds he’s notched up a league high 42 hit ups. Sam’s not doing it all alone. Hymel Hunt and Bryson Goodwin are starting to look like an elite pair of centres as well as old faithful Alex Johnson who has scored three tries already this season. Bryson Goodwin also has three tries and Aaron Gray has four. It’s not hard to see why the Rabbitohs are leading the competition. The Bunnies are the biggest, fastest, strongest team in the competition. they’ll win this one with ease.

Bet On: South Sydney Rabbitohs +13 – $2.75 at Ladbrokes

Manly Sea Eagles Vs Cronulla Sharks (Monday, March 21)

The Sea Eagles aren’t having the start they would have hoped for. With two losses in the books, they’ll be looking to make an impact fast against a strong Cronulla. Unfortunately, Martin Taupau can’t carry the team so DCE will have to get back to basics and lead his team to victory. Manly have shown glimpses of what they are capable of, but are clearly a few weeks away from stringing a entire 80 minutes together.

The Sharks have taken a bite out of the competition this season. They came close against the Cowboys in round one and last week shattered the Dragons, keeping them try-less throughout the 80 minutes. The Sharks look settled in their new lineup and should be able to handle Manly. Jack Bird and Valentine Holmes have had great starts to the season.

This one has the opportunity to be close. Teams often struggle at Brookvale Oval, and that’s not helped by the Manly Fans. The Sharks are sharper at the moment and should take the points.

Bet On: Cronulla Sharks 1-12 – $3.40 Ladbrokes
