2016 NRL Round 2 Betting Tips
The NRL season opened with a bang. The Rabbitohs are sitting pretty at the top of the ladder after their performance against the Rooster. Now let’s take a look at our NRL Round 2 betting tips.
Brisbane Broncos Vs New Zealand Warriors (Friday, March 11 – 8:05pm AEDT)
Brisbane took down an undermanned Parramatta in Round 1. While the Broncos weren’t at their best, they did show flashes of why they will be a top contender for the 2016 Premiership.
Corey Oates played his usual role with absolute style, moving the ball 193 metres and scoring a try in the process.
The Warriors, however, lost. They went up against the Tigers and for the first half got ran off their feet. While they did make a strong attempt to take the lead in the second half they were simply too late. Brisbane will be too strong for a still improving Warriors side. Expect the home side to win comfortably.

South Sydney Rabbitohs Vs Newcastle Knights (Saturday, March 12 at 5:50pm AEDT)
The Knights were stunned last week when the Titans came out to play. Both teams entered the game severely inexperienced. Kade Snowden was awful last week. While his teammates weren’t much better, he has enough experience to make an impact and basically didn’t show up. Hopefully for the Knights’ sake he can fire off the bench this week. Jeremy Smith played a strong role, meanwhile, so look for him to pressure the Rabbitohs defensively.
Souths took a sledge hammer to their rivals the Roosters. They scored five tries in the first half while keeping the rooster scoreless. The game wasn’t without negatives for the Rabbitohs with Adam Reynolds and John Sutton injuring their jaw and peck respectively. While these losses wont go unnoticed, the Rabbitohs have plenty of depth to fall on.
The Knights can’t match the Souths. They’re barely in the same league. We like another blow out from the Rabbitohs.

Melbourne Storm Vs Gold Coast Titans (Sunday, March 13 at 6:30pm AEDT)
After a rough start, Melbourne managed to secure victory against a strong St George side. Marika Koroibete was the stand out player in purple. Having moved the ball 153 metres, he broke the line 3 times and scored 2 tries. He really was on fire. Storm made some mistakes, but managed to remain composed and keep their heads down for the whole 80.
The Titans were surprising last week against the Knights. They shocked a lot of punters when they trounced the Knights 30-12. Despite the torrential rain Greg Bird was on fire. He shifted the ball 158 metres and set up two tries with some stunning passes.
It will take a huge effort for the Titans to over come the Storm. With eight new players making appearances for the titans last week. Storm is just too big a scalp for such a fresh team.

Wests Tigers Vs Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles (Monday, March 14 at 7:00pm AEDT)
This one is interesting. The Tigers managed to take down the Warriors last week, while the Sea Eagles failed to fly against a savage bulldogs outfit.
It didn’t take long for the Tigers to hit the scoreboard last weekend. They scored 4 tries to 1 in the first half, putting them in a great spot for the showdown second half. Defensively they were disappointing in the second half, however, allowing the sea eagles to come back within 2 points. The second try from James Tedesco sealed the game.
The Sea Eagles have been completely rebuilding with eight new faces playing last week and a brand new coach. Momentum was always in the Bulldogs’ favour. They applied pressure and Manly couldn’t handle it. Blake Leary and Darcy Lussick are both out with Brenton Lawrence and Josh Starling replacing them. Manly will be out to make a point this week, but while they will find their feet, we expect the Tigers to attack early and hit the score board.
