2016 NFL Week 8 Betting Tips
G’day NFL punters! Unfortunately the Tennessee Titans couldn’t hold on to their lead last week and we went 1-2 on our best bets taking the season tally to 13-8 with average odds of $1.97.
In terms of a season update the New England Patriots are by far and aware the best team in Football right now with the Seahawks and Steelers the next best on our power rankings.
This week looks a great betting week and we’ve got four best bets to share with punters!
Seattle @ New Orleans (3am Monday the 31st October)
Seattle have been the best defensive team in the NFL over the last five years. What we have seen thus far in season 2016/17 suggests they’ll continue to be one of the top teams on that side of the ball. They’ve been patchy on offense though and get the perfect chance to get back into a groove this week.
The Saints defense has been one of the NFL’s worst for a long time. They’ve given up 35 points or more in four of their six games and in a dome we can really see the Seahawks passing attack getting rolling.
Suggested bet: Seattle -2.5 – $1.83 Sportsbet
Confidence level: 80%
Oakland @ Tampa Bay (3am Monday the 31st October)
Tampa Bay were smashed with injuries after starting the season in great fashion with a win over their division rival Atlanta Falcons. Slowly they’ve started to get their best players back and last week was a confidence boosting win over the struggling 49ers.
Oakland are a dangerous offensive team but leak points and are a misleading 5-2 as they are yet to beat a team above .500 and yet to beat a team in our Top 15
Suggested bet: Tampa Bay -1.5 – $2.05 Bet365
Confidence level: 75%
Kansas City @ Indianapolis (3am Monday the 31st October)
It is close to our best bet of the weekend. The Colts lack talent across the board and if Andrew Luck doesn’t play at an elite level they have no chance of winning this game. The Kansas City defense is improving and getting healthy. They’ve won three of their last four and are clearly ranked higher than the Colts on our rankings.
We’ve got the Colts home field as a 2.5 point advantage but on a neutral field the Chiefs are six to seven points better. That should have resulted in a line between 3.5 and 5.5. The current line that is less than a field goal is a great bet.
Suggested bet: Kansas City -2.5 – $1.90 Sportsbet
Confidence level: 85%
New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns (3am Monday the 31st October)
The Jets aren’t good but they are comfortably better than the Browns who will struggle to win any more than two games over this entire season. The Jets offense has enough talent to run up the score and the holes they’ve got on defense will not be exposed against a very limited Browns team.
The bookmakers have missed this line by as much as three points and the inconsistent Jets should get the job done for us.
Suggested bet: New York Jets -3 – $2 various
Confidence level: 80%
