2016 NFL betting

Two weeks into the NFL season and here are a few quick takeaways we’ve made.

The Raiders might be improved, but their defence is awful and it’s almost impossible to see them winning enough games to make the playoffs. The Giants defence on the other hand, is much improved. The Broncos defence is still good and the Minnesota Vikings are right there with the very best defences as well.

The Colts offensive line is still awful, the Seahawks are struggling to move the ball and their offensive line is weak as well. New England will be just fine and are the team to beat in Super Bowl conversations. The Packers offence isn’t what it should be considering the personnel and the Steelers just won a division game from their defence, not their high powered offence!

Anyway, onto this week’s bets!

Arizona @ Buffalo – Monday the 26th of September 3am AEST

The wheels are already off in Buffalo. They looked awful at home against the Jets last week and the Ryan brothers who are known for their defence are leaking points! Further to this, they fired Greg Roman their offensive coordinator during the week and ownership has been meeting with the players behind Head Coac Rex Ryan’s back!

The Cardinals on the other hand, they bounced back from the loss in Week 1 to New England to comfortably beat the Bucs at home. They did so by forcing four turnovers on quarterback Jameis Winston. A confidence boosting win should see the Cardinals visit Buffalo with their tails up. They are a better Football team in all three categories and the Bills are a mess.

Suggested Tip: Arizona -4 ($1.90 at CrownBet)
Confidence level: 75%

Cleveland @ Miami – Monday the 26th of September 3am AEST

The Browns have lost two quarterbacks in two weeks but it does seem the market has overreacted too much here. Rookie Cody Kessler out of USC will play under centre this week as they travel to Miami after almost beating the feisty Ravens last week. The Ravens are a solid, tough team. Very much similar to that of the Dolphins.

The Fins played the Seahawks tough in Week 1 but there are some question marks around that form as the Hawks didn’t score a touchdown in losing to the Rams on Sunday. They were then very slow out of the blocks against the Patriots on Sunday and now sit 0-2 with their season on the line. They shouldn’t be 10 point favourites against anyone!

Suggested Tip: Cleveland +10 ($1.90 at Sportsbet)
Confidence level: 70%

Minnesota @ Carolina – Monday the 26th of September 3am AEST

The Vikings are a tough and honest Football team that is very well coached by Mike Zimmer. They beat the Titans on the road before beating Green Bay impressively last night with new quarterback Sam Bradford looking like the best QB that’s been in the Twin Cities since Brett Favre. Adrian Peterson will sit out but the passing game is opened up with Bradford now in the fold.

The Panthers were well beaten in Week 1 by the dominant Denver defence and then were less than impressive last week against the San Francisco 49ers. The Minnesota defence is rock solid and can unsettle Cam and the running game. Take the points, the line is two points too high.

Suggested Tip: Minnesota +7.5 ($1.90 at Sportsbet)
Confidence level: 70%
