Louis Van GaalTwo teams with a pedigree of challenging for title so late in the season, will clash with anything but title in their sights. Chelsea and Manchester United continue their ragged season, away from the title chatter, clashing at Stamford Bridge in the English Premier League on Sunday February 7th.

Guus Hiddink must be thinking that he has turned the tide with an eight-game unbeaten run but the team is still not up and running. It is only because of the poor returns from Jose Mourinho’s reign early this season that that this run looks enormous. They still are miles away from European qualification places, which is the least the club is hoping for.

One good thing, though, is their good run against Manchester United. The Blues enjoy a six-game unbeaten run against the Red Devils having lost only one of their last 13 home Premier League games. The reverse fixture of this season ended in a very dull 0-0 draw at Old Trafford just after Christmas. The Blues are a completely different outfit now though, with key players like John Terry, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa performing consistently.

The same can’t be said of Manchester United. The Red Devils’ season is a huge paradox because the table tells that they are within an earshot of top four while their form says that they deserve mid-table. The ups and downs of the Louis Van Gaal (pictured) era continue to confound analysts and critics alike as the inconsistencies make them a difficult team to predict.

Van Gaal must have been relieved to see his team win 3-0 against Stoke midweek but the joy would be short lived if they come second best this weekend. Oddly enough, the shadow of Mourinho still looms large over Van Gaal as rumors continue to fly around his potential arrival at Old Trafford at the end of this season.

Their struggles against Chelsea in the recent past are well documented and even the presence of a struggling hosts could be a tough outing for United. It could be a very close game with just a single goal potentially proving the decider. Back Chelsea at odds of $2.10 at Sportsbet to come away with a victory.
